Silo tipping container

Hi peeps, has anyone any information on tipping these type of containers ? mates going for job interview and wants abit of information and heads up before he goes.

Off-load the same as a pressurised tipping silo tanker.
You need to do a little more building up, as the air hoses and discharge bend are not permanently attached to the tank.
Some you have to fix the air control block to the container.

Important to remember every time that you tip that all your twist locks are in the locked position. (To many accidents happening with these, some “funny” man undoes or the driver forget to check the twist locks before tipping.

You have to go on top ( not very good for people with fear of height or vertigo) to check if all the lids are properly closed down and tight.

The get off-loaded by the driver with compressed air, either supplied by the factory or by an on-board compressor.
After tipping the load and before loading a return load, the tank has to be cleaned, either at a cleaning station, or brushed out by the driver.
Again the driver needs to go on top and open the manlids, and open the rear of the container.

It’s a bit of a marmite job, and is reasonable specialist, driver need a decent training and be aware of the dangers

There is no powder tanker driver who at some point is covered in powder, or blasted by granules.
Also drivers has been killed to enter a tank after been off-loaded with nitrogen.

If you have the hang of off-loading and don’t block the customers receiving pipes, it’s one of the most relaxing jobs to do.
