but ,why would you need to be signalling if your following the direction of the lane that your sitting in,though expect to be corrected by the never do anything wrong brigade again.( you cant be too safety conscious,and what if a child gets killed)!!!

If pedestrians were waiting to cross just around the corner then they may not be aware of the lane markings so in that instance a signal would be necessary

Green cross code and all that ( 9/10 there would be a light controlled crossing )
If all there is is painted arrow traffic behind may not be aware, I tend to indicate as a matter of self defence.
Always indicate your intentions, It costs nothing,
Never assume pedestrians will do what you expect them to do or to know what to do
A good driver will only indicate if necessary to do so but that means being 100% certain if none is applied
Answer is yes as far as I’m concerned. Even though road markings are showing the lane to be left turn (or right) you should still indicate that you are turning left/right, that’s what was taught to me on my training anyway. .
No such thing as a silly question, just a silly person for not asking!! If in doubt, ASK!!!
I’d say yes also as it cannot harm. Indicators are to let other people know what you are doing, not to confirm your actions to yourself.
