silly mistake

That’s the one, there is a sign there now. It’s quite remarkable, at the A5 junction the sign says 12’3 but by the time you get to the bridge, it’s grown to 12’6. Them Victorian engineers were bloody clever.

No but were on about a bridge in WARWICKSHIRE.

Just going up to Warwick to pick some pallets up went down the wrong road which had a 13ft 5 bridge at the end luckly there was a left turn just before it as I was runningout of working time decided to park up for 15 mins Iin which a copper goes by in his car never thought anything of it gets to our yard to find they had reported me for going under a low bridge and a 7.5 weight limit what I thought was funny was how do you get a 15 .6ft trailer under a 13.5 bridge complete muppets with nothing better to do also the road I exited from was 7.5 ton with access! So the moral of the story is don’t take any wrong turns !

There are sooo many holes in this jackanory, the cynic in me wonders why sooo many have believed it.

TNUK is finished if this is the level it has come to. ■■■.

Na its just off the a46 like I said I was stationery when they went past if they had of stopped they’d have noticed it wouldn’t of gone under when I came out the exit road was7.5 ton with access but the road I took only had the the low bridge sign as I came back the same way just to see obviously theyv got nothing better to do!

Is the bridge in question on the A429, coming in from Stratford direction? It has the flashing warning sign that goes off closer to 13’ than 13’5 as I set it off with our hired FM last year.
My wagon will fit under the Budbrooke railway bridge (Warwick parkway station). The wagon is meant to be 12’5 but fits under the bridge 12’6 with loads of room. Same with the 12’6 bridge in Rugby just off the A5.
Cue Albion decrying me for risking it…

You mean the one on the A425 muckaway?

I went down there once with a double deck trailer, there’s no sign off the roundabout and the 1st warning sign is just after the last junction before the bridge :unamused:

Not here you aint

The bridge in question was on hill wooton road I went up coventry road then turned lef tjust befor it just winds me up thats all.

Signage for a lot of low bridges is poor, and directions for an alternative route for over-height vehicles almost non-existent. Is it a crime to stop vehicle and check map? Drives me crazy seeing drivers reprimanded by people who have no appreciation of the difficulties faced out on the road.

What annoys me is industrial areas that receive goods by trucks. But within a five mile radius of factories you see no parking signs for trucks.
They want the goods. If out of hours, tough mammaries, not their problem.Move on and get out of Dodge.
Heaven forbid if you park the nasty smelly killer 100 ton Juggernaut near a residential area.
The old bill will be there in five minutes to move you on.
Curtain twitchers that live a sad life.It may reduce the value of their house.

This is the one I’m on about, I’d delivered to 1 of those factories and there’d been an incident on the A46 so I tried to avoid it, looked like a main road, no warning signs etc.

This must’ve been about 7yrs ago or so, but looking on streetview, there still wasn’t any signs when the google car went down.

I agree, you can’t get done for going through a bridge if you haven’t, it’d be the easiest appeal in history.

Also, bridges (as a rule at least) come in 3" incriments, so I’d guess at 13’6", there is probably an exception to prove me wrong there though.

Again with the 7.5t limit, if it’s except for access and you’ve stopped, you were accessing a parking place and are legally allowed to do that

There’s plenty of warning for that bridge and they have been there 8 years at least to my knowledge, and the warning is on the roundabout with flashing lights.
