M5 J3 NB there’s a big yellow sign instructing abnormal loads and loads over 38 tons to pull in and wait for instructions. I guess this is something that’s been left up from the road works? But why what was the issue? And where do they expect you to pull in to phone? There’s not even a hard shoulder there

I’ve noticed that, but I think that’s the one where the abnormal load bay is in the middle of the roundabout…

Not been there for few weeks but for ages been a yellow sign on a50 at uttoxeter saying 44t weight limit. And cant see why.
As the roads not changed

yep, and theres a dvsa checkpoint under the junction…

I’m fairly sure that’s something do do with an STGO type load that’s weakened one of the bridges somewhere along that stretch, once / if the bridge is strengthened I’d assume they’ll remove the limit.
