SIG sheffield insulation advertising for drivers in my area, anyone work there got any information, job as didn’t mention pay always makes you think what’s that about?

If it’s the bunch on the old whitbreads estate off shep cote lane, Lots of handball or Moffat unloading I did a few days ages ago and I got the impression it was poorly organised, I was sent out without a manifest, just loads of delivery notes. Which in itself wasn’t the problem, but no clear instructions or contact info & not being told there’s a backhaul to collect by the guys in the warehouse, and getting a rollicking for turning up back at the yard empty after a full day multi dropping around Derby/Ashbourne in an artic.

Worked in Bellshill branch, all depot’s set their own pay rates, some days delivering to builders merchants others knee deep in muck on building sites, mon-Fri get your delivery notes at night fix them in a run, loaders would reroute them to get them on the truck but you could deliver in any order within reason, they close at Christmas for a fortnight so you need to keep holiday’s, if your not looking for big money and don’t get stressed easy it’s a not bad job.

Turned the job down £23k a year is £7k less than I’m on now, the package was good 33 days holiday and pension scheme but 7 grands a big difference.

I’ve been told they’ve got a “red” rating with the DVSA, which means their trucks are liable to be stopped regularly on motorways, and that this was because of a big accident a couple of years ago. I did a week of class 1 work with a branch of theirs in Surrey and found the loaders in Redditch unhelpful (wouldn’t help secure the loads or give me time to arrange the straps as necessary) and they piled stuff on, pallets on top of pallets without a load-bearing curtain or enough straps, and I was told it was probably overloaded when I got back. Decided never to work for them again.

Thread bump…
