Siemens tacho fault

Got a fault on the tacho at the moment, Siemens VDO on a 62 plate Baxxor.

When were not driving, the 2nd man mode (were double manned) switches back to POA of its own accord, driver stays on other work,
When on break the mode switches back to other work/POA by its own accord,
Every now and then it flashes up power interuption on the display, and when we take the cards out and do a printout (to write when weve had a break because its not recording them) it flashes up driving without card, but the vehicle is stationary and engine off.

When the mode switches whilst on break I am putting it back to break for a minute or 2 before we set off to show a start and finish, eg
10.45 - Put on break Sometime between mode switches to other work/POA 11.30 - Switch it back to break to show end of break. 11.33 - Set off to carry on working.
All these mode changes show up on the tacho printout, so a quick scribble on the back and I am hoping my ■■■ is covered.

Goes in garage Thursday so hopefully be sorted, proper pain in the ■■■.

I’d say it was broke

Had similar problem with a 62 plate DAF, mind of it’s own. Put on break it then showed driving and other work on printout.

As long as you can show that it’s booked into the tachograph centre for repair you shouldn’t have anything to worry about, the manual entries on the printouts will cover you.

needs to go to a tacho centre…and it looks as though it’s still under warranty going by its age

Bring back the Servis Recorder all is forgiven!

Never had this bother with my old log book,

Bring back log books

Lets get rid of this nonsense of having to keep track of driving and work time, and get back to making it up to suit
