Sick days and booked holidays

Here’s the situation.

I had 2 days booked off work. The day before my holidays started I called in sick. so I had 3 days off, 1 sick & 2 holiday.

When I checked my pay and done my back to work interview. I was told you can’t be sick and on holiday at the same time, which means they’ve counted it as 3 sick days.

I was told because I didn’t go back in before my holidays started they weren’t counted as holidays and sick days instead.

Is this right because it doesn’t sit right with me. On paper that means that if I had a week off work and on that first day off I fell ill technically I’d be off sick.

Just doesn’t sound right at all to me.

From my recollection - calling in sick over-rides all other things
In the future call back to tell them you are not now sick

Yep, that’s normally how it works.

Sounds good to me, you’ve still got your holiday days to take and they weren’t wasted by being sick.
