Anyone know if you need DCPC if you shunt and stay on site, no offsite Driving. Thank you in Adavance
I don’t think you even need a licence. If you do, someone needs to tell the loaders at my depot.
No cpc but licence often required by insurers.
Pete
As previously stated, no need for any license legally, but often required for insurance purposes. I know that keedwells let their apprentices shunt in preparation for their training. Not necessarily advisable but it’s a good way to get good at reversing quickly.
Thanks for the information, i have the C&E lience but with me returning to driving im in the process of renewing cpc and just thought i could shunt for a while whilst im doing them.
As long as you’re not taking it on the road, at all, cpc isn’t needed, unless company policy dictates otherwise. Best thing to do is just ask.
