This time of year thermal underwear is absolutely essential.
The most important thing is all fastenings should be of Velcro
as buttons and zips are a challenge for the poor loves.
Boots, combat trousers with high vis waterproof trousers over the top, company shirt and sweat shirt, gloves (always on even when driving) wooley hat and scarf and high vis coat stashed somewhere in the cab… That’s what I would wear if I was shunting.
Freezer coat. Hat. Snood. Gloves. Thermal socks.
Suspenders and stockings questions are getting tame on swingers net nowadays.

I am a firm believer in the “little black dress” when shunting. Goes well with any company livery, masks 5th wheel grease stains etc. One other tip is wear flat soles. Heels just go straight through the holes on the catwalk.
I may have admitted too much …

I feel terberg need to address the situation for us dedicated workers.
I would think that a suit made from cotton wool or bubble wrap would be appropriate, after all shunters only shunt because they’re too scared to go out on the road with the real lorry drivers
