Shunters

Hi guys finished my shift this morning around 10am and when i drove into the yard i was meeted by one of the funiest things i have seen in ages , the shunter had picked a trailer up and was moving it round and it fell straight of the back of the tug . They had to get a recker in to lift it up and guys if they can do it it shows we are not all perfect.

Mistakes happen but is was funny to see though.

I saw it happen to the shunter when I worked for James Irlam at Grantham.

It was a proper shunt-tug and the ‘old-boy’ had been doing it ages. He swore that the pin “was in” and had tested it but still, the loaded trailer fell off in the middle of the yard!! :open_mouth:

A few of us handballed the front few pallets off and then a forklift was able to lift the front of the trailer enough to get the legs wound down.

they coulnt do this in this case the landing legs were all bent up and it was tilting on one side ,best thing it was a hire trailer the hire firm will love this…show me the money lol
