Showmans Caravans

Hello all. Does anyone have any experience of pulling the 70’s showmans caravans? Like the 30ft Simson’s and Colchester ones. What are they like to pull compared to a modern day darg? We fancy getting one to go behind our Foden S21 for shows and things but dont know how much it will slow us down. i know with modern drags with modern braking etc they seem to pull nicely and follow the line of the wagon tightly, but was wondering if the showmans caravans were like this? The ones i am looking at have airbrakes etc so suspect they shouldnt be too bad. When i say slow us down i mean from a how they handle behind us side of things, not how heavy they are etc.

Cheers.

Jon

I once drove one of Cubbins motors, Foden 6 wheeler, from Farnworth to Leigh with a living van and a pay box in tow. The two towed trailers nearly followed the same footprint as the Foden with the exception of a couple of feet.
