Show off your Motor

Not my cup of tea but 1/2 the price of German / Italian / Japanese

Could trade yours in for an XFR which would do a similar job as the Merc.

Well done, that looks mint! Is it a 600?
Always liked the chunky look of the SRADs.

Very nice pr , though after watching super bike surgery on YouTube trying to sort out a gsxr750 I’ll stick to Kawasakis , turned into what looked like a nightmare , I didn’t even see if he found the actual fault as it was getting late

But enjoy

I enjoy these videos , think this is the bike that’s gone on and the on

It’s a 750. One year only carb model, one previous owner with 8000 miles. Not many about like this now. Amazing for a 30 year old bike

SRADs are pretty easy to work on, same as any other bike of that era with carbs. If you watch superbike surgery’s videos on carb cleaning you will get the idea. When I bought this bike it was a non runner but the carbs had been professionally cleaned. Not very well as it happens lol. She runs sweet now, but same as any carb bike if you leave them sitting they don’t like it.

I was watching his video last night doing the carbs on a thunder ace / r1 , found it very interesting , think the thunder ace had Bern at a dealer for 7 months and still wasn’t running , he had it running fairly quickly

That’s the bit I miss , messing about with bikes

Yours does look lovely , enjoy

This place has some lovely older bikes in pb , this r1 looks mint ( I had one years ago ) mrs wouldn’t wear 2 bikes in garage , and they say 2 nd time around you’ll be disappointed

But still a looker in my eyes , and even though probably not comparable to the latest super bike still stunning , and more than fast enough for the road

Yours holds it price well , I took mine in last w/end ,zx4rr 25 plate , about 2,500 miles & they said it should clear the £5600 left on finance :roll_eyes:, I paid £8695 8 ish months ago , I’d hold onto your , looks like values are going up

You’ve set me off now on looking at older bikes :joy::joy:

If you have a close look at that SRAD it’s not quite right. Subframe and tail unit has been altered to be slightly kicked-up. Something odd with it. It’s been for sale for a while.

I’ve done another resto on another older one….2002 ducati 998, back when super bikes were non-digital. That’s a keeper. Pics later.

Loved my Thunderarse. Bloody thirsty though only having a 5 speed box. Rode down to The Bol D’or years ago with a mate on his R1 and every fill up he was putting at least 5 litres less fuel in to top his up. Two up and flying back along the Peage (free for bikes on Bol D’or weekend) I was getting 30 minutes per tankfull :joy::joy::joy:

A friend who i used to ride with years ago did that to his SRAD, changed the subframe and gubbins to one from an early 2000s gsxr (was it a K3 maybe..)
Appeared more jacked up and spoiled the look of the bike imo.

A fantastic way to instantly half the value of a bike and make it look a bit dim :ok_hand:

It looks like that one for sale has had a similar thing done. Just looked at it on autotrader, the description says no daft mods done to it
The rest of it does look really clean though, in the pics anyway.
Post pics of the Ducati.

Edit please.
