As several other countries have now banned the wearing of burqas in public places should the UK follow suit ?
Yes the burqa should be banned in public places.
No the burqa should not be banned in public places.
All full face coverings should be banned in public places unless worn for provable medical purposes.

Personally I think the burqa and niqab should be banned in public places, if you’re wearing a burqa you obviously have no intention if integrating into British society or the British way of life so you should leave the country or remove the face covering.
Having said that, I think all full face coverings should be banned in public places unless for provable medical reasons.
Given my quite outspoken politics you’d imagine that I’m in favour of banning the Burqa, but on the contrary I’m against banning free will. Do I like the fact that certain cultures demand that their women hide themselves thus? God no, I despise it, but surely free will is the bedrock of our society.
I’m also wary of MSM and politicians telling us who we should hate; remember that dick Cameron and his “ban the hoodie” campaign? Imo that was just A N other politico jumping on the populist bandwagon, and it’s worth bearing in mind that a sizeable number of these “feckless hoodie wearers “ then went on the bleed and die in foreign deserts in the same politicians name.
So overall I despise the tradition, but I defend their right to observe it.
Whilst I can’t disagree with your way of thinking I think this country has now been turned into such a segregated sh!thole that we need to be very robust in our defence of our way of life, in fact I would like to see a national debate as to whether or not people who align themselves with Islam should even be allowed to hold public office in the UK.
I’m all for being fair minded and giving people as much religious and social freedom as possible, but when a significant proportion of a particular religious group are set on taking over the country for their own benefit and knowing that the rest of that group will remain subservient to them no matter what, it’s time to put our own interests first.
We’ve become ridiculously soft in the UK, we change our laws to appease people from other countries and their religions and we allow little chavs and antifa to roam around fully masked up causing as many problems as they choose, personally I think it’s time to enforce robust laws to put a stop to the countries decay before it’s too late.
With you 100% on this. If I moved to Saudi, Spain, Algeria or whatever I’d not expect a voice other than that of a (settled) visitor. I think that in order to hold a public office in a Christian country one should follow Christianity (I personally don’t but accept wholeheartedly that should preclude me from holding office)
It’s the old adage really; why escape from your third world shiphole and then attempt to turn your host country into a facsimile of the very place you escaped from?
Yeah I get where Maoster is coming from, in one way I agree with him in terms of free will, but in another I don’t.
Firstly I think all coverings should be banned especially thrse feral gangs types.
As for the burqua…I may have had a different view if it was not for the particular religion it pertains to.
I hate ALL religions btw, but I confess if it had been a Hindu or a Buddhist thing for example I probably wouldn’t care…wait for the obvious accudations from the lefty fraternity…or individual.
I am not saying all moslems are hostile or potential terrorists, I am saying that the main threat of terrrorism comes from radical moslems.
The format of Islam is to be against 'infidels…or ‘unbelievers’'it is in the roots of Islam.
The burqua provides aspects of protection both in identification and the obvious covering of face to disguise say a man to a woman etc…which has been done (no Franglais I have not recorded specific dates and times, but I have heard it reported before., that is good enough for me)
Also the integration intentions thing is wholly relavant to it.
I’m not going soft mate. I’m a huge fan of live and let live, in fact it’s all I desire. So whilst I will to a certain extent respect others wishes I also think that should be 100% reciprocal.
The simple truth is that by and large the West (regardless of skin colour, sexuality or religion) is largely tolerant of others, and I believe that anyone who threatens that equilibrium deserves to be killed like a savage dog.
If I was in charge then every lampost would be decorated with the hanging body of anyone who threatened this way of life.
I do get where you are coming from mate…and not for one second did I think you were turning into Franglais.
I agree about rights freedom etc, but on other hand there is a caveat on that.
I reckon the paramount safety of me mine yours and everyone else’s safety in our own country, and the absolute right not to get our limbs blown off supercedes that.
I also agree with your lanpost option.
I don’t altogether agree with this to be honest, for instance I’m an atheist and though I have no intentions whatsoever of ever trying to hold any form of public office, as long as my social beliefs are roughly aligned with the Christian/British/Western way of life (which they are) I don’t think the fact that I’m not a practicing Christian should necessarily stop me, the fact that I’m an ignorant old [zb] should though
I don’t think the UK needs to be run on a strict religiously sectarian type basis, as long as the social beliefs of those in public office are well aligned with the British/Christian way of life it’s all good.
A very well written and articulate summary of how most people in the UK feel right now.
I’m sure a certain member of the forum is chomping at the bit because I haven’t included any sort of “official link or source” to my claim but there you go.
