I’ve got a disqualification showing on my licence for DR 10. I’ve been back on the road for 18 months now though. Would this affect my application at all?
Thanks in advance.

It might - expect DVLA to pass on your application to the Traffic Commissioner for approval
Many companies and agencies will not entertain any driver with that showing on their licence
Hate to break it to you but DR infractions are normally a big no no. They don’t seem to mind speeding offenses as long as they aren’t ridiculous but have anything drink related then they will start closing doors. That being said however, some agencies may take you on and stick you on some low rung 7.5ton jobs to build you up.
As ROG said, these days your first stumbling block could be the TC.
Once over that hurdle, finding work as an HGV driver probably won’t be easy, I don’t know of any agency that would touch you with a DR10 on your licence, they couldn’t risk sending you out on a job without the clients consent, and the client is unlikely to consent to having an agency driver with any sort of drink related offence on the licence unless they’re really desperate for a driver.
I should think your best, and probably only realistic option, would be to find a sympathetic small operator, but that’s not going to be easy either.

I agree with what this poster has put, though what I would say to add to the highlighted section, we are supposed to be in a driver shortage, and a small haulier might take you on, but expect your perceived risk to be reflected by low wages. Take that for a year or two and then look elsewhere. good luck
