Wrong entry
They most likely downloaded info from truck over weekend by USB and this some times causes your problem.I would check a bit more into it before signing.

Thanks for replies , company has league tables for everything and my 100% for no infringements will be gone but will take your advice sign it and move on .What exactly are they saying you did wrong that has not been corrected by a manual entry/printout ?
Company agree with me that the tacho unit had some sort of failure , what they was asking me to sign was an infringement for driving over 4.30 , as for some reason when tacho ■■■■■■ up it had me driving from midnight to 1630 , I then drove 4 hrs so by time I had a break tacho was showing 20 hrs driving .

Have you corrected that by way of a manual entry ?
If yes then there is no infringement
When I put card in after tacho balls up it didn’t ask if I wanted to make a manual entry , we manual entry everyday we have to account for every minute on tacho records
Hang on !.. The company KNOWS that there was an equipment failure, yet they STILL want you to sign an infringement ■■ That’s not right is it ■■
There are 2 ways to deal with this…1: refuse to sign as you say that you DIDN’T drive for more than the allowed hrs…or 2: Sign the infringement, but before your signiature, write in capitals ,right before your signiature ‘V.C.’ …means ‘vi coactus’…or co-erced to sign . Nullifies any legal moves by any ‘authority’. There is a stronger version of this,too…‘C.F.’ …means ‘coactus feci’…or forced to sign…again nullifies any legal moves. (This will work in any ‘legal’ situation, with the police or other so called ‘authority’ too !).
Might seem picky or pedantic, but I can’t abide managers/companies who want you to sign away your rights, just to cover there own arse !
I work for Royal Mail and on any occasions where they say that I’ve got an infringement,I have taken to using the above method ( V.C. or C.F.). They may not realise what I’m doing, but their lawyers will, the first time they attempt to take it further !
Do what’s right for you !!
Signing to acknowledge that you have been made aware of an infringement is taking your rights away and you would ring a lawyer over it, assuming you could find one that didn’t laugh at you before hanging up?
I bet you have some good tales to tell in your local RDC waiting room.
Or 3/ sign it and just before the signature write FO meaning F*** Off

Just out of interest, what methods do Royal Mail employ to coerce you to sign? Even more interesting would be how do they force you to sign ?
How do you decide whether you have been forced or you have been only coerced ?
Was Royal Mail like this before the sell off ? or has it only just resorted to these nasty ways of , as you say , getting you to " sign away your rights "
They really should be worried though, as I bet they don’t know who they are dealing with eh ?
Regards. John.

Yeah ,well that’s effectively what I do,when I do that ! lol… Most of the managers aren’t bright enough to realise what it means. I’m just waiting for one of them to ask me…

On the Siemans tacho there is an option to enter a manual entry after you have inserted the card. Not sure how it works since I’ve never used it but I’ve seen the option there.

Come on now,John, play nice eh ■■
When I say that I work for Royal Mail, I actually work for them through Manpower…have done for 11 years (don’t work anywhere else…don’t need to).
You ask what methods do they use…well, some of them will start ■■■■■■■■ about it or try to give out what they think is the ■■■■■■■■■ work going. Makes no odds to me,as any infingements get signed in the way I’ve suggested. They haven’t tried to ‘force’ me yet.Wouldn’t work anyway !
What most of the management don’t know,is that I have run my own haulage company in the past,so I know the business from their perspective too…that’s why I don’t let them get away with any nonsense.
Royal Mail is still highly unionized (sp?) ,but certain of the management have never driven anything bigger than their desk and can’t manage their way out of a paper bag ! They’re all ‘health & safety this and that, but when things go ■■■■ up,that all goes out the window and they start asking the drivers to do all sorts of things, that they would normally frown upon. Very selective to say the least ! It has been getting slowly worse since the sell off tho’…most of their own staff aren’t happy. I believe that the government are looking to sell off the rest of Royal Mail, later this year,to the private sector…don’t know what will happen then…

Ah…I see now. The " not bright enough managers " are going to feel right fools when you explain what your Latin legal terms mean, especially if you hit them with the killer blow of " I used to run my own haulage business ". I bet you can’t wait.

I see…You’re either one of these ‘not bright enough’ managers yourself…or just a muppet ! Which is it ?
And people wonder why forums fade out…

No I’m not a manager, but I suppose I might be not bright enough or even as you say, I suppose I could be a muppet.
One thing I am sure about though, is I am not some barrack room lawyer who knows a couple of legal Latin phrases ( which lets face it 99% of the population wouldn’t understand ) and uses them to endorse his signature. Then just can’t wait for his thick manager to ask what they mean so he can demonstrate what a clever boy he is
Maybe one reason forums fade out is because when people don’t get the response they expect, they resort to insults and name calling ?..just a thought.
Regards. John.
You making friends again John? Lol.
For what it’s worth mate, I read a lot of your posts, and you make a lot of sense to me.

Indeed. Any agency driver claiming that his ‘rights are taken away’ (LOL) and threatening clients with lawyers is not going to spend much time working.
Agreed Olog.
