Company I’ve been with since late last year seem to be going down hill, not much work for the last few months on and off, lots of waiting around and far too many miles being ran empty! My suspicion is that they could be going down the pan but they haven’t said anything as of yet.
Would you experts say I’d be making the right move to find another job and beat the (potential) rush?
Many thanks
a picture is worth a thousand words…you know the answer already…bail and at least get what you are owed.

The only thing I’m expert on a Friday evening is drinking Beer Czech! But in my opinion - yes you should be looking now. The more time you spend looking, the more chance you have of landing a better prospect than your current job.
Depends what you can get to jump too .
As long as the £ is in your bank at the end of the week just turn up. The day it’s not their keys in good bye.

Good grief Beezle! You summed it it up phenomenally!
Cheers for the replies guys. More or less summing up both sides of my mindset between yourselves! I’m thinking a leap maybe better before the drowning!
At a place I used to work we were put on 3 days a week due to ■■■■ all to do. Had a letter in January stating that it will stay 3 days till March and in the meantime you are free to get agency work to fill your weeks as long as it didn’t affect them. Some starting doing agency, some liked being at home more, I handed my notice in and left a 30k year job for a 15k a year full time van driving job at a mates local electronics shop.
That summer the company went bust with massive debts. I actually stayed a whole year doing the van driving before I decided to pull my finger out and go off driving lorries again. Got a full time job at another company and one of my ex colleagues came in one day as an agency man, he said him and a few others had been struggling on agency since the place went balls up as there were 40 drivers looking for work.
Jump ship if your getting bad feelings, then in a year when it goes ■■■■ up your 6mths in to your new job.

I think you’re right mate! Don’t feel like queuing to sign on!

Thats the main reason to go now - not good if 20 drivers suddenly all need a new job. Whether or not you tell them thats why you’re going is up to you, but also it’s better to jump before the reputation of the company gets damaged as it will if they go bump.
If it helps, MT Barnsley are after a Class 1 tipper driver.

I’ve never touched a tipper in my life and I heard they like a lot of experience?

I suppose it one of those don’t ask don’t get events. They do lots of nights out as well, kit is good.
You got DK Barnsley as well now which is owned by one of the sons, father/son relationship a little strained so never mention the other company
Within reason tippers are simple enough. Make sure your on good ground before lifting 25 ton into the sky so you don’t tip over and that’s about it.
Cheers mate I’ve give em a bell on Monday!
Would be good to give something other than general haulage a go!
I had heard that they were at loggerheads a lot of the time. Families eh?
