Should I change jobs

I live in the midlands and deliver cherry pickers and scissor lifts e.t.c and im sick of delivering to building sites and the phone ringing all the time changing my day around and getting extra work so im looking to get into store deliverys or another type of work where u get work and thats it if u know what I mean… so iv got an interview with a company called a.f blakemores in wednesfield and was wondering if anybody has got any idea what they are like to work for and would the grass actually be greener on the other side

I did some work for their Hastings depot a few years ago, it was all cages to Spar stores. Some stores were fine but others were hard work. Had one where cages had to be wheeled over cobble stones, another was over grass with no help whatsoever.
Current wages down our way are not great so I’ve heard, around £9.50 on days but may be higher up your way.

It’s hard work. If you want that kind of thing you’d be better off at 3663 at Fradley or Brakes at Tamworth or Coventry. They pay a lot more money than Blakemore.

Try Fedex in Stoke.

I do store deliveries now and then,my work is inputed on my iso-trac,the work content can change 3/4 times in the 50 mins it takes me too travel to the dc,then when I get given my job it can be totally different to what was last on my iso-trac.
Ex last job on iso -trac was start 11 a.m ( I drop dewsbury, 1 drop cross gates ) finish 18.30    ,job I got handed ,start 11 a.m ,2 drop grimsby,I hull + backhaul scunnythen back reload ,2 drops sheffield ,2 drops mansfield ,I drop notts ,finish 1.30 am. :frowning:
Most days I don’t even look at iso trac now I just have a look when they hand me job ,doesn’t wind me up so much then .

frying pan - fire for me going from sites to shops and cages.

I suppose every job has its good and bad then I dont really know what I wanna change to doing im just getting a feel for other jobs it just does my head when I go to collect a machine abd they have either left a load of crap on it with no charge/diesel in it or some other muppet on site has borrowed to do sone work and they expect you to wait even though they never hired it (of course I tell them to politely ; ) get off it). And to be honest I wonder what it would be like to work for a large company rather outside transport for a small company where u get put on all the time
