Shortage

Seriously, are there going to be food shortages this winter?
For how long do governments, wholesalers households and retailers have stockpiles?
This is not a troll. I just want to take adequate precautions if some of the caveats on this forum come to pass.

Poor trolling…

Attempt. Why would we know any more than your source Karen on Fakebook?

Earlier this year we had ‘all the council tips are closing and the bins won’t be emptied for years!!’ That turned out to be cobblers too.

Optimum was previously asking about investments: Can we guess that stocks of loo-roll, pasta, and rice have been secured?

Let’s not give the doom mongers, the obsessives, the alarmists,.and the pessimists any more ammunition ffs. :unamused:

Who is “…source Karen on Fakebook?” Anyway, HGV drivers are well placed to know what’s going to where and when. I don’r want my family to go hungry if it can be avoided by making sensible steps in good time when there is no hassle. I don’t think there will be any shortages but let’e face it there are many stories about Trump, Brexit and ferries etc …See Mathew 25. 1-13

Any food shortages will be because braindead halfwit morons who once upon a time would’ve been cleansed from the gene pool have gone panic buying.

How many toilet rolls did you buy?

…The usual.
Why are some people so obsessed with toilet rolls?
Mathew 25. 1-13

The bog roll pandemonium started as the Chinese imported it from Australia and their factories were running out but the UK has its own factories but that fact didn’t stop the moronic sheep emptying supermarkets here .

Maybe the…

Ten Virgins stockpiled all the bog roll?

Question…Who tf is Mathew? and where can we see him?
And make your mind up man, :unamused: …is he 25,.1 or 13…or are there 3 guys called Mathew of different ages?..or even is 25 1 13 his date of birth (making him 7)
We need to know these things, before we can answer your ‘‘serious’’ question. :bulb:

The most pressing question is why hasn`t Rob Started on the beer?

Rinse bum on the outside tap like a man

It will all be fine so long as people don’t convince themselves that it won’t be and go and clear shelves of stuff.

I didnt last time round and guess what, I survived the great supermarket starvation of 2020 :unamused:

Only thing in short supply at the moment is common sense

There probably is some scope for a short-lived break in the supply chain for a few products in the correct circumstances. As far as I could see during the first wave, the shortage of flour was more due to people changing consumer behaviour due to being at home a lot.

Pick up a couple of extra things every week that will keep and don’t use them. Of course because of the self-isolation parameters, you should be able to stay in for a week to ten days without needing anything. If you have a freezer and a dry store, then it shouldn’t really be too much of an issue, although I appreciate that finances can come into it as well, which is unfortunate.

Problem is of course that this is exactly what causes the shelves to be emptied - everyone buying “a couple of extra things”.

On the contrary, this means that the supply chain can deal with gradual demand and it means the stocks are in homes rather than in the supply chain. Everyone going to the supermarket at the same time to significantly stock of course doesn’t work and will lead to empty shelves.
