Should your contract be amended if there is a change made short term in your t&c, s,it’s a change in my guaranteed hours ,gone up from 50 hrs to 60hrs short term ( not sure how long ,could be a week ,month ) ,it will have no real effect on me wage wiseas I do more than 60 hrs ,I’m just wondering in terms if you were made redundant ,finished etc .ta .

Not sure of your pay scheme Dozy, but knowing your lot I’d be highly suspicious that it isn’t simply a way for them to pay overtime AFTER 60 hours as opposed to AFTER 50 hours!

I’d want to know why it’s being changed. As said, are they trying to skimp back on ot, or are there some awkward drivers saying jobs can’t be done in basic hours

Then surely your union rep would know the answer to this.
As far as I’m aware they cannot change your Ts&Cs without your permission or by giving you 90 days notice, that’s how it was a couple of years ago but may have changed.
Apart for that, how long is a short time? I would want to know a lot more about why before committing. If it’s not to your liking get proper advice, from your Union if you’re in one, or a solicitor dealing in employment law if you’re not. Google them in your area as the will usually give you advice for 30 mins free.
