well i got a phone call on wednesday asking i fi could go to fife council on the hooklifts again just for a day, said aye even though the pay is rubbish £6.50 an hour but its the only day ive worked this week so its some money in my pocket.
anyway my day starts at 0700, pop into the office see the transport manager, have a chat about things as id not been there in a while, get given keys and thinking im gonna get a rubbish motor i didnt, i got givemn one of the 08 plate daf cf 85 410 8 legger, sweet apart from the auto box.
put tacho in at 0720 and head off from Denburn yard in Kirkcaldy through to Lochhead landfill site on the outskirts of dunfermline, the busiest civic recyling site the council has but is part of the landfill site so you go about 200 metres to tip lol.
get to the site about 0745 and get given my first box which was a paper box which had to be taken down to pitreavie transfer station to be emptied, get the box on and get there about 0800, nice surprise for the gusy working there as i used to do the paper bins from this site,
had a natter with them and we got on with our day. back at the civic site i get given my walkie and told what bins to empty etc, first bin was a wood one and its a bugger to get the box back once your done but heres the first picture ont he way back from emptying the wood. up that road is where all the household waste goes, behind is where the wood and green waste goes

back round to the site, you have to reverse into this area as an 8 legger cant be turned around in here.box 1 is on the corner.spare boxes ont he right and the paper and cardboard are ont he left as are electrical appliencies and tvs in the blue container.
next is the bricks and stone container.
up onto the household area, the compactor on the right has been mothballed for parts, as has another one on a different part of the site.

my walkie, saved me getting out the truck on the weighbridge 
boughton control box, its easy to use but i prefer the joystick controls and a full hook instead of the half hook this motor had.
hard hat needed mainly inside the motor as i found out when i whacked my head off the above storage area on a hill lol
after 4 hours work this was the state of the truck 12 runs onto the landfill
birds are a right pain on the landfill, we een have a hawk up here to help aswell as flashbang type rockets to scare the birds away, thats all you hear all day.
and the people tipping side of the tip.lol. the compactor was out of use because it had…a broken window wiper motor yet it wasnt raining lol.
