Shocking!

Goldilox-you have really brought me down to ‘earth’…

My boots give me constant shocks at work. I have to slap something metal with my palm or elbow or something before I touch something with my fingertips (because then it hurts more).

Goldilox:
What colour is your cab Mr Maoster?
.

It’s plain white. Mind you we just got 30 of them at our depot and no one else seems to be complaining.

There is a driver at our place we call Lightning maybe we should start calling it you lol

The Missus already does.

the maoster:
I keep getting electric shocks! I figure that I’ve either developed the worlds worst superpower (what’s the point of having a power that only hurts you?) or it could be summat to do with the seat material of this new Actros. I’ve given up my smart EE lookalike sportswear so it can’t be that! Every bloody time I climb out I get a belt through a finger tip or through the top of my head from the doorframe. Obviously this provides lots of amusement to witnesses but is starting to wear a bit thin with me.

Obviously I’m awaiting the ■■■■ taking replies  but has anyone else had this, and if so how the hell do you stop it? I await your sympathetic replies.

Yours Electroman.

some cars years ago used to have the thin black rubbers trailing at the back with lightning patterns on remember ? well anyhow they was to stop stattic, that is your case or do more work so you have less energy

Many years ago, i heard what i presumed to be an urban myth that those rubber strips were supposed to help relieve travel sickness?

I had a V8 rover in the 80s that frequently gave me an audible and visible belt on getting out, and it had leather seats, so i reasoned that it was most likely generated by my clothing. I found that earthing my hand on something while getting out very definitely cured the torment. Also got it a lot off supermarket trolleys, and found that keeping a hand on the metal and rubbing and tapping it periodically did the trick. I dont suffer this affliction anymore, but that`s mainly because the spark has gone out of my life.

For Maoster et al…

(if it works!)

I had a Toyota camry years ago and used to get static shocks off that , more so when I shut the doors. In the hot weather it was worse , got to the point where I would leave the window open and dive through it although that didn’t really work either & could be quite embarrassing
Most of the time I just had to remember to put my hand on the glass to shut the doors, if I forgot I would get a painful reminder :open_mouth:
