It’s most annoying when i put my card in do the paperwork only to find out the previous driver has put break mode on when he took his card out…WHY?? it’s not recording anything…I’m with Burnley Si here card out finished, end off.
I do a manual entry every morning to cover the time I’m waiting for a unit/run and then de-brief at the end which is generally about 15 mins. It’s ■■■■■■■■ but keeps the driver trainer happy

No because I stick to the letter of the law and I only work for clients who are compliant however, falsifying a tachograph is an offence which can carry a custodial sentence. Working off the card is falsification and I cant afford ANY brushes with the law.
I only know 1 other driver who is as strict on this as I am but there is a lot at stake
Handbrake on,engine off,card out and into van on way home in around 2 minutes,I have a life

I don’t do manual entries because the first time I tried I made a balls of it 
When I’m done I’m done, paperwork is handed in on way to car which is 30 seconds off my life so I think I’m safe no one will shoot me for it!

You should join up with a few other like-minded individuals on here and start your own agency. You need to call it something snappy like

Many of our drivers have extensive experience of never being able to hold a job down anywhere and will also, without the need to make any request, freely dispense advice on how to run your business properly prior to departure.
