Shelves not replenishing, very few trucks on the road?

Pizza deliveries?
Yeah, I did that. Normal run was a 21,000 dropper. Did 24,000 drops once, but needed a 2nd night out on that one.

Driving this, averaging 7 drops, with an average of 120 trays of dough for each store, with an average of 10 dough per tray, is 8400 pizzas a night, give or take a few.
I never did a night/day out though, in fact average shift was 8 hours but always paid for 12.
You sound like a hero, keep it up

Nah, mate. Back in the day we did proper multidrop.
Single pizzas and some times two or three to a drop. Some times l put it on break whilst running a few around the same street.
[emoji3]
Hero? Moi?
Why, thanks.

.
PS. We didn’t carry fresh on trays, It was frozen. Thats how we got more in the trailers. Obviously the cab microwaves and batteries needed frequent changes.

The economy is grinding to a halt, the black market picking up sharply to take up the slack.

“No Cards, Cash Only” is now being seen more commonly, especially in inner cities, which is rather odd - when one considers the handling of dirty old banknotes made of plastic - must surely harbor more dirt, disease, and drugs than at any time of our recent history??

The backlash is starting, the state will do its best, under instructions the new world order, to remove cash from the system, in preference i too will be giving my money to people who continue to accept cash as the who is allowed to work restrictions are gradually lifted.

I fear this will be a step towards a cashless society

I.hope.not as am.hating it having pay by card for everything for weekly shop to a sandwich and a paper when I’m out.
As.cant budget keeep.track.of what am spending…
Normall.take out £100 lasts me all.weeek.petrol.in car top up gas card buys me few bits I ever need etc
Don’t always spend it all.
But I can physically see what I’ve spent what I have left.
Although these days am.better off as not going out wasting. Petrol.on poimess trips to the show.buying stuff i.dont really need

Was that on a moped

Cashless society is a bad thing?
How much intrinsic value is there in a brown, or silver metal disc? It’s not gold.
Is there any more security in a bit of printed paper or plastic than an electronic transfer?
Anyone who uses a bank is already, at least partly, cashless.

Are you really that naive?

Cash in your pocket, is yours. And you can spend it as you wish. Legally. Without being g tracked/watched/recorded.

The implications of a ‘cashless’ society are truly Orwellian.

“I’m sorry sir, your driving licence has beensuspended/revoked, because our records show that you buy more than the state allowed ■■■ number of alcohol units”

“Im sorry sir, you can not come into the hospital, because you bought cigarettes/fatty cakes/more than the state sanctioned amount of red meat”

"Sorry sir, your card has been declined. You have exceeded your state sanctioned maximum mileage/fuel allowance "

“Sorry sir, your card has been declined. The machine does not tell me why. Please contact your local state representative”

People dobbin in their neighbours for leaving their house twice in a day is one thing, but this??

Someone needs to do some research into fiat currencies.
The Jekyll Island meeting.

Not a conspiracy theory but a well documented fact.

Seems to me…your all shopping at the wrong places.SAINSBURYS is full of everything one needs, in fact all the stuff one couldnt get a few weeks ago because of stock piling…albeit there are queues to get in, but well controlled, and only one at a time.with 2m spaces between shoppers inside and outside and it all works well.

Open another account in your name in a different bank, put £100 per week in it, pay for stuff, when it’s gone it’s gone. Simple

Move over Martin Lewis!

Youre conflating some different issues arent you? And ignoring others?
.
Paper and coin can be forged. That benefits criminals and costs society.
Electronic funds too can be corrupted, yes, although your arguments suggest they are all powerful. Are you arguing both sides?
.
If there were to be a state allowance for fuel that could be circumvented by using cash, that equals the black market and corruption, an argument against cash.
.
Buying alcohol isnt he same as drinking it all oneself, but I dont want alcoholics behind the wheel anyway.
.
Hospital rationing/refusal due to patient action/lifestyle is totally irrelevant to cash vs card.
Arguments may be had, but the method of payment is irrelevant.
.
There are arguments to be had about surveillance, sure, but payment methods don`t seem very relevant to me.

But that is what it is. Surveillance. As is the case now, if you pay by card, Tesbury know what you buy, when, and where. Presently, they use it to tailor their advertising and special offers.

But, if the only means to pay, is via card, then all your purchases will be monitored.

We can argue long and hard about wether or not that would be good, or beneficial to all, but I only mentioned a few examples. Nobody wants a drunk behind the wheel, but if I decide to push the boat out on two of my four days off, i would have to prove to a commissar that I’m not an alcoholic who gets behind the wheel drunk. That is, if you get a chance to argue.

Insurance companies wont argue. They will ramp up your premium, or refuse insurance, without recourse.

You wont be able to buy books/papers that are considered ‘subversive’ by the state.

Buying to many ‘over the counter’ medication? Again, automatic red flags for insurance and/or DVLA.

And my personal concern, (as it is now), trying to take cash out of an ATM or paying for goods, and the machine going ‘uh uh’. There are many possible problems that can screw up the electronic banking system (as indeed it has on a small scale in the past) hacking, glitches, or possibly, state interference. If the state can turn off your money (which is yours, you earned it…), they control you.

Can you imagine the ■■■■■■ that Thatcher would have had just thinking of that much control over the working class? And so much easier than convincing them to buy their council house first.

We are still delivering to rdc’s as normal and the main difference we have noticed is a generally quicker tip time in fact Morrisons Sittingbourne usually you are in a queue and can be there up to 3 hours but now you are straight on a bay and pulling out with in the hour . Tesco seems to be turning you around quicker as well . Didn’t do Sainsbury’s or M&S this week so couldn’t say but we now have a new delivery as in Ocado which I guess at this time of online delivery has picked up a lot of business .

not cash related.
I have a tradepoint card for b n q .
don’t use it that much.
but when I do you can guarantee within 24 hrs im getting txts and emails saying special off on paint tiles or what ever.

and I so hate toolstation or any store now who want your name email address etc when ever you buy anything.

the number 1 item to buy cash is a tv.
anything else then tell them your a diddycoy living in a van and that itl be racist for them not to serve you.
then just say your name is ivor biggun or clark kent and if its needed for warranty ,use someone you know that has a valid address. cash is king.

theres nothing wrong with saying no,i dont want a extra warranty, your not getting my name, address, email,or phone number and im paying cash.

we use morrisons and have found the staples are there in abundance but frozen stuff in short supply… can you fridge lads give a reason for this?

Easy set up on online back ie Monzo place money in there when you spend it shows straight away as well as you balance which is left easy to do then you can keep control of what you spend

Less and less Supermarket trucks, more and more private haulage firms.

Looks like it is already obvious what the “recovery” is going to look like… Not “V” shaped like Sunak thinks, but rather "A Phoenix of private hauliers rising from the bonfire of the vanities that was Megacorp Transport outfits, too stingy to pay furlough money up-front, but too poor to claim back the 80% from the government in any case.

Betchya there are a few fraud cases being brought over the coming months - Branson is laying people off, and holding his hand out for government top-up money which is supposed to fund Furlough money - ain’t it?

Not a clue mate, we run frozen loads into Wakefield, Corby, Bellshill & Bridgwater and I’d say that volumes are slightly up, so I’ve no idea as to why it’s not reaching the shelves.

When this is all over i’m reverting to using cash all the time apart from obvious internet purchases, if shops and businesses decide now is a good time to stop taking cash so be it, i’ll go somewhere else who will take cash, if enough of us do this we can thwart the plans of new world order corp.

The good lady and i treat this demanding of your name and address at tills as we do those forms you have to fill in at surgeries etc, where being white there’s one box to tick but if you happened to be any other shade there’s umpteen choices, nope not playing by their rules and that’s being upped a stage or three when this debacle is finally over.
