What trucking jobs or companies would you shag, marry or avoid.
For me.
Shag. Id love to do a European F1 job, the reason its a shag is that I’m happily married and don’t think the long time away from home would suit that. I love F1 and know that the work basically prevents you from seeing the race and you would have other duties during the weekend. I still think it would be something to look back on in my life and I could say I’ve been part of it. (PM me if you know how I could get my dream I would take holiday to get the chance to do this).
Marry. I’m lucky enough to have a 4 on 4 off job with final salary and private health, the work is not too hard and the money is OK so I think I may have found my life partner.
Avoid. I did agency work for a refuse and recycling company {Smiths of Gloucester} they wanted me to go out on my own and pick up industrial bins, the instructions said “if the bins are full, tip them out” the bins were full, of stinking rotten food, so I refused to tip them out as I’m pretty sure it would have been illegal. Also the lorry they tried to make me go out in had no working seatbelt and a 2 foot crack in the windscreen, so I refused it and it was changed for a pick up transit with cage. As far as I’m concerned a company like that should not be trading if they are happy to send out vehicles that are so obviously unsuitable for the road (the regular drivers were glad that I made my stand as they had been complaining about it for months). I wasn’t asked back thank God.
