It is that time of year again as of 1st January the tolls go up again 20p for cars and 50p for lorries
if im going to newport i go in via ross on wye and use the bridge on the road out (free) so it doesnt affect me. but as a matter of interest is that going up by or to ■■? if to, what are the rates??
The tolls are now £6 for cars and £18.10 for trucks going up tp £6.20 for cars and £18.60 for trucks

It would add 35 miles to my regular Merthyr trips !

As unbelievable as it may sound Merthyr is like leafy Surrey compared to other places in the Valleys.
The tolls go up by the rate of inflation on the 1st of Jan every year and will remain at a criminal level till at least 2018 when the bridge comes back into public ownership, I would say with some degree of confidence that private involvement in our road network and infrastructure is a mistake.
I many ways the bridge owners are doing me a favor Motorcycles are free and jobs are plentiful in Avonmouth £30 a week in tolls thins the competition.

Dartford was going to be free after the first tunnel was paid for, think it was 10p to get across then.

it is slightly quicker and uses less fuel to go m5/m4 and over the bridge . the m50 route is 30 miles or so longer , but the bridge toll pays for that and the greedy (zb) don’t get your cash .
