Severiano Ballesteros

A bloke with this talent taken away at the age of 54

What a waste

As a kid growing up, I would go and watch my Dad play golf. Just like Sevi he would wear a Slazenger jumper. Because of that, Sevi was my golfing Hero. Never played the game myself, but I can watch it for hours.
A real loss. A real Hero of mine

Some of the tributes were amazing, from Bruce Forsyth and Peter Allis, you could hear the sorrow in their voice, and like Brucie said 54 is no age :frowning:

I am not a golfer either but without Sevy, mainstream golf would not exist & be still a little known sport like pensioners bowls.

I wouldn’t say he lost it as such, but he did suffer with his back for years and also arthritis.

Wasnt just his back tho, he’d get the jitters and start shanking a few… Still legend tho, prob no1 in my view for his love of the game :sunglasses:

I haven’t had a brain tumour so don’t feel able to comment, but maybe it causes the jitters

The jitters were years before the tumor! I wasnt meaning to be nasty! Like i say hes a legend and i love him for what hes done for golf, but look at his last ryder cup…, Still, not the day to comment, lets all have a beer for seve, RIP legend

As a golf lover for many years it is a sad day indeed.

He brought that little bit of difference to the game that made him shine, and golf better for it!

And 54 is no age for anyone to die.
