This seems to be another one of those felixstowe companies that is growing very rapidly. i keep hearing about very thin margins on container work but it doesn’t seem to be holding this company back. Anyone know who is behind it and how they are doing it ?.
as far as i know they have been going for years, they will supply near enough anything from fridge container at supermarkets to cope with over stocking at christmas ect, to vehicles
They provide vehicles for hire/lease (amongst other things). They supply freightliner with vehicles.
They bought out HJ Calver a few years back which is what gave them a boost in terms of the number of vehicles they have on the road. As their main business is/was vehicle finance, I assume that they perhaps sell the cream of the vehicles from the finance side into the haulage business. Keeps the costs down and they have a good idea that they have been looked after.
I would presume they don’t actually do haulage then. Probably have more sense & stick to renting the trucks out.

As mentioned it was previously H J Calver, and there is also Seven Asset Lincs
Roy Dunnet is the Guv’ner, afaik. The financial brains behind Russel Davies.
Seven appeared not long after RD’s went blue.
I’m told they have 100’s of vehicles out on lease, most of the time in customer colours.
You’'ll generally ping them by the branded mud flaps.
They bought Calvers a while back to give Seven Lincs, the haulage arm, a foothold in Fxt.
Saw several of their motors in Freshlinc’s depot in Spalding today. All hooked up to Freshlinc trailers. Must be on hire for the Xmas period.
You know what, i half suspected when i asked the question it was somebody from the Russell / Hanbury Davies stable. It’s got that look of build it up and then sell it off for a big profit look about it.

Based on the fact, from memory, they had P reg 4 series’ in Securicor colours, does that not make it '96?

Very shrewd people!
As Goaty says, they are run by Roy Dunnett. The group has various arms, of which haulage is a minor part as far as I understand. They have a significant division doing refrigerator/refrigerated vehicle hire/leasing, a vehicle tracking software business, vehicle financing/leasing/sales, and of course property development - all of which make them a very different bast to a standard ‘haulage’ company.
Just to echo what everyone else has said, seven asset is run separately from seven lincs (the haulage side). Seven lincs was born from the takeover of hj calver and they took on Charles Garn of Medite fame I believe. Also afaik wasn’t doing very well last year and lost a few contracts however I think they are doing much better now. Seven asset are big in truck leasing and alot of DAF LF 14t carpet carriers ran by the likes of faithful floorcoverings and crucial trading are in fact leased from seven asset!
