Seriously?

This is really taking H&S to far, they already have an ■■■■■■ vehicle and a stop/go lollypop now they have to block the road with a plastic barrier

:open_mouth: :open_mouth: :open_mouth: The people who think this crap up need hitting, hard.

How long before you have to load your vehicle onto a transporter, which will then crawl through at 0.5 mph.

Good idea if you ask me. considering the amount of accidents that happen involving road workers. stops idiots trying to jump the lollipop man. ive actually witnesed 1 or 2 near misses with cars trying to get through. Might be a bit OTT but if it saves one worker per year then its worth doing. Just my opinion…

Im sure it was the Tarmac cretins who were resurfacing this road, they closed the A44 to HGVS for a few weeks due to resurfacing but it was ok for the tarmac tippers to use it to deliver to black stuff  :unamused:

You wanna go into british sugar in bury st Edmunds to see the crap you have to put up with in there regarding H+S,had some pallets in a fridge trl,had to wear a hard hard and safety goggles and hang my keys up on a hook whilst pumping said pallets out the back of my trailer :open_mouth: :open_mouth:

Unbelievable!!!

I was sat at a stop lollypop the one day and watched the ■■■■■■ vehicle approach with the queue of vehicles behind, the ■■■■■■ vehicle pulled in to let everyone past and some dizzy woman pulled in behind him   everyone else shot past her and she then realised what was going on and carried on, me the ■■■■■■ driver and the lollypop man were laughing our heads off

thats pretty much the norm everywhere these days, always carry a spare set of keys to hand in dont give them your truck keys.

The problem is, is that there are always a minority of people who will go flat out through road works, or vehicle recovery, putting the others lives at risk.

It does come down to common sense and a respect for others, 2 qualities that we seem to be lacking in the this country.

I can see this happening, they will close the road for 4 weeks while they install those bollards that raise out of the ground, they will then spend 4 weeks resurfacing 200yards of road then close the road for another 4 weeks while they remove the bollards

Seems quite sensible to me - Quite common for people to just say ■■■■ it and drive on through.

Barrier stops them.

Yes if its an unattended temp traffic light they do tend to jump the lights, if its a guy with a lollypop and a ■■■■■■ van they dont, no need for a barrier.

■■■■■■ van? It’s one of them welfare unit thingys.

When I was a polis, a real one - not like mickey - I had spoken with a few traffic management/road workers and they said it’s a consstant thing with drivers who just ignore them and drive on through.

They do if there is no ■■■■■■ vehicle, I counted 11 cars that carried on through a red light :unamused: car drivers are like sheep, if one does it there are more that will follow
