Seriously

Talking to a van driver at our yard and he had this.
Seriously how can this be legal.
Plus how desperate or sad do you have to be to need one

Seriously why do you care?

Secondly no more or less illegal than any other phone cradle/holder I imagine.

Most likely using his phone as a sat nav, nothing wrong with that as long as its hands free and your not touching the device while driving.

Also it’s not in the swept area on the windscreen there. You just probably can’t see your speed as you drive along

Looks like a stupid idea to me and I’d be surprised if the police would be happy about it. It’s obstructing part of the fairly important vehicle control device.

i wuldnt have need for one of those positioned where it is,but unless they can dream up an add on charge for something then plod can be as unhappy as they like so long as they cant actually find a charge for specifically obscuring part of your clocks?

Depending on what is on the screen, eg SatNav, probably not much, if a film or YouTube video, then it’s a good Without due care AND ATTENTION.

I wonder what happens when he plugs the charger in…

Be difficult to watch a film on that whils driving. Better with an ipad on the dashboard. Or even better a decent 21" smart tv streaming from phone. I hate watching films on my phone especially whilst driving. I find the tv to be more conmfortable. It puts my driving at ease and distracts me from all the clowns around me that cause accidents day in day out.

Given the number I’ve seen doing this on motorways and A1, even during rush hour, not sure if serious or not.

My current pet hate is smoking and driving. Just saying.

Ah the 4-6 chaotic rush hour. Thank god for bradley walsh and the chase. Really gets me through the bumper to bumper stuff.

its always best to keep things legal and safe.thats why when im driving along watching a movie then its on the telly behind me with the pre installed mirror at a convenient angle.
theres no law against driving and looking in a mirror.

I wonder if the new mercs with the tablets as mirrors if you could watch movies from them. What could they charge you for as your checking your mirror

Driving and looking in mirrors is actively encouraged, ask any driving instructor, LGV or PCV trainer, they’ll all tell you to do it

I saw one driver watching a film on his tablet perched on the speedo driving through the roadworks at J25 at 7am which were free flowing at the time. I looked over because I was wondering why he kept slowing down and speeding up despite nothing in front of him for quite a distance. But no doubt you see no problem with it and maybe even do it too given your flippant response.

just goes to show how desperate some drivers are to escape the boredom on a night trunk?
theres times and places i wouldnt watch, microwave my tea,or make up some chits when driving, apart from that, just do what you want so long as you get away with it,and worry about it if you dont.
the chances of you ever being in a position to overtake me are slim to non existant,so il take my chances with the other duddly do good road commanders out there…

Did the NHS pay for your humour by pass or did you go private?

He will have done it himself, he’s probably a qualified Doctor… as well as everything else.

With a selection of equipment he’s picked up along his route, kfc hand wipe, salad bar spork and chop sticks from the noodle place.

It’s Gear Brylls
