Why ? why ? why ? do Stonebridge (referred to as Knobbridge from now on) change to default ‘Other Work’ when you switch the ignition on. Had the motor for 8 months now & the Knobbridge Tachograph still keeps catching me out, took a 15 yesterday followed by a 30 an hour later, checked the time by switching the ignition on & it said 29 minutes but defaulted to Other Work so I pressed the 1 button & didn’t notice that it hadn’t changed back to break ! Durrrrrrr.
So now I’ve got yet another infringement that I’ve had to ‘Self Bollock Myself’ with by writing out an Infringement Reporting Form, so I don’t get a little letter telling me off for being a Naughty Boy.
What a load of Old Bollox all this is, I’d had over an hour on POA just before I took the 30 minutes Break, but as we don’t get paid for breaks, I keep the Break Mode to a minimum, so I’ve Technically Broken the Law by 1 minute [emoji22]
Throw away the key & leave me to Rot in Infringement Hell [emoji12]
■■■■■■■ hell martin. I’d say that’s not going far enough really. I think you should offer to rip you own toenails out and lube ■■■■ with a thistle too…
I take it your tacho isn’t wired so that the light on the tacho screen comes on when you push “ok” with the key out of the ignition?

Yea it does Fred, but what ■■■■■■ me off is the fact that you’ve got buttons above your head & the ignition switch as well & I’m not getting any younger, with a tendency to forget stuff & go off on a tangent-----------------

I have never actually tried it but I believe some Stoneridge models allow the user to set the auto-mode activities when the company card is inserted.
Perhaps this is worth investigating as you could stop it doing it.
I had it changed from Break to Other Work when I first got the wagon, it defaults to whatever you tell it, our lot pay us off the Digicard & deduct ALL Breaks, first day out I clocked up about 7 hours of Break (every time I switched off) [emoji57] & had to explain why I’d been asleep most of the day. Lol.
It’s a 5 min job at a centre to get it to default to what you want…Unfortunately no one can second guess what an owner wants/driver wants unless specified at PDI …If not specified it will be left on what ever it left the manufacturer on

Come back Siemens, all is forgiven. [emoji106]
Rather than have it set to default to Break or Other Work when you switch on/off (neither of which appear to be ideal for you), why not have it set so it stays on whatever mode was already active? Pretty sure a tacho centre can do this.
Don’t mention the word Stoneridge, i still get the willies just thinking about the hopeless things that were fitted by default to every bloomin Scania at one time, was as much as i could do to get me card out at all, let alone consider doing anything like a manual entry.
How did something so utterly unusable by the typical age group of regular drivers ever get the green light, beggars belief.

i like the new ones , easy to use and understand.
spot on for keepin track of drive time etc.
Had one in my last puddle jumper, thought it was great, other than a proper eject button, it was perfect. No bloody waiting and faffing and writing down times etc

Our CPC trainer (in-house) told us a Stonerigdge rep admitted that they got the manual entry interface badly wrong on the first version of their digital tachos.
The newer ones are much better - big symbols and a layout that makes it clear exactly what you are doing - and I would would much rather use the one in my current truck than an VDO tachos I’ve used.
