Never had a tag axle’ but the drive axle looks like it has levelled itself??
good to go buddy it will level out
if you not sure start engine allow air to build up then drop the axle then try and lift it
Wouldn’t worry about it lad, you’ve heaps of clearance at the back of the tailer so your grand
Not related to self leveling but that fifth wheel chassis plate looks exceptionally tall…

Was thinking that myself AndrewG, we’re used to low fifth wheel plates. I can hardly get a finger between the trailer and wheel arches on my unit lol

Same here. I have a SAF low profile fifth wheel fitted with no chassis plate to keep the trailer as low as possible, the bottom of the trailer is only just off the arches…

Mine has a JOST fifth wheel and its laughable when your on a bay beside a lorry with a high fifth wheel the difference, looks stupid when the trailer is way higher than the unitlol. Tbf I’ve only ever drove a truck with a low fifth wheel plate as I’ve only worked for one company so far on artics. I would imagine driving a truck with a high fifth wheel being a lot less hassle in the UK. Just means I always have to be careful when lifting and dropping trailers with no skids which isn’t a bad thing lol. What size wheels do you run on?
Standard size 315/70/ R22.5 on durabrite Alcoas. I only specced the low SAF fifth wheel to keep a 4M tilt below the cab roof and as well as side deflectors have it coupled as close as possible for clean airflow…
I always have to be careful when lifting and dropping trailers " we all do"

Yes simcant, an obvious observation but what I’m getting at is with low fifth wheel plates you can’t use skids on a unit to prevent ripping the wheel arches off when going in or out from under trailers.
Anyone with those skids doesnt have to give a hoot but if you don’t have them then you have to actually use the airbags on the back axle methodically to actually lift and drop the trailer on its legs. That’s what I meant but thought I’d save the essay lol

Ref comments about fifth wheel height and noticing that trl is marked as 15’3"… I’d be getting my six inch ruler and stepladder out.

Will it let you lift the tag when empty? Possibly a faulty sensor on the levelling valve

yes it will go up and down but self levels in the high position

Can you manually set it to the right height? Possibly memory settings been altered?
