Is it worth going self employed, ie a Ltd company? What’s entailed in doing this and importantly is it worth it?

You’re not usually “self-employed” if you have a limited company - you’re employed by the ltd company you own.

The whole business is very complex, because there have been lots of attempts by the IR (HMRC) to stop people claiming they’re independent from people who would normally considered to be their employer. The result of all these attempts is that there are no longer any simple answers to your questions.

Not if you havent got much experience, no point going to a prospective client and they ask, so what type of work have you done for the last 2 years and you answer stacked shelves in tesco’s or was a student then did your licence.

Look at it from thier view, if youve got 2 people giving you business cards and one has driven for 10 years on a lot of various assignments and 1 has just passed his test and only done 3 months on agency, which would you take on?
