I’m honestly flabbergasted by the love of stoneridge, admittedly it’s been 4-5 years since I experienced them but they where ■■■■■■■ god awful things. The Siemens vdu is idiot proof hence why I like it

The new Stoneridge are also now idiot proof whilst also being a lot more user friendly than Siemans ,thats why they are so popular
If you are someone who likes to/has to make religious manual entries, the new Stoneridge units are infinitely better than anything else. The user interface on the old ones is shocking though, I have tried showing many a driver how to do a manual entry on one of those and it’s bloody hard work, I’ve screwed it up many times myself.

The new ones are much better than the ones you’d have used bud. Don’t think they’ve been out for more than 3 years ish.
As you say, older ones were crap

Always used the Seimens tripe. Never seen a Strongridge unit in the flesh.Stonebridge tachos are mostly found in Scanias. Pretty much every other make use Siemens tachos.
As I’ve never driven a Scania unit, that would explain why.

I’ve seen lads get into a right state trying to eject their cards.

I always help them out.
Eventually
I prefer the seimens have used both as well as the Iveco I find it easier to use than the stoneridge even the ones on the 63 plate scania I have driven
Maybe more used to the seimens more but I now drive a scania so have to put up with the stoneridge
Anyone seen the other makes as there were another 2 at 1 time

Weren’t Keinzle and VDO just rebadged versions of the others?
Stoneridge for me please:)
Stoneridge se5000’all day
Looks like the Stoneridge is clear winner. Thought as much so I’m going to give the gaffer a dig and show him - hopefully the new trucks will have these instead of that Seimen crap in them!
Well I like them both apart from the siemens ones take bloody ages to tell you your times when the ignition is off, I mean that’s just bloody ■■■■, I ain’t got time for ■■■■ design. To be fair to them they are more innovative than Stoneridge with all the Star Trek tech.
Does the Stoneridge one do that? I can’t remember.

Which of these tachometers do you think is best and why?I prefer Stoneridge.
I’d have thought that all tachometers are the same as each other. All the ones I’ve ever seen just tell you your engine speed .
What next, who makes the best hazard light switch?

If you like! But as you need perfection and for the pedantic amongst us I have changed it and told off my predictive text for doing it!
I promise faithfully to proof read what I post in future and apologise for any inconvenience or trauma I may have inadvertently caused you!

It doesn’t show your daily driving hrs anywhere in the menu
Yes it does but it involves a lot of tedious button pressing. I can’t remember off hand how to do it now as its years since I’ve driven in the UK but you basically scroll through the digital version of what you’d see on a print out and at the bottom it gives the total. Its far from ideal but its there.

That’s correct atleast for Stoneridge might work on Simens to, never trided.
Select show 24h on the display. Scroll down until E (infinity sign) is displayed. You might have to wait some time before the drivign time appears.
Why not just do a print?

The ones we have in our 57 plate scanias you gotta be careful when doing it because if you click too much and go by the daily drive time you have to start all over again lol, and they lag abit sometimes so you press the button nothing happens, press again a few more times and then it brings up the info after your daily drive :@

The only truck I’ve driven with a digital tacho was a 61 reg for a few months when I “Wintered” in the UK one year. I always wished you could press the up/back (or whatever it was, can’t remember now) at the start and go directly back to the end so to speak to display the total drive time, rather than click endlessly through the days events to finally get to the total.
