Seddon Atkinson Strato ~ They surely aren't all Bin Lorries?

Hello

I’ve been quite surprised lately to see a lot Seddon Atkinson Strato’s still going strong on the UK roads, despite the closer of Seddon Atkinson by Iveco a good few years ago.

But, I’ve been quiet concerned that all these Strato’s I’ve seen have been Bin Lorries!

Surely, there must be some Strato artic’s and rigid’s going strong?

Since I couldn’t find a dedicated thread for the Seddon Atkinson Strato on Trucknet UK, so I thought it was time for one!

This thread will look at all Strato’s, from the early Strato’s back in the 1980’s to the very last ones made by Iveco in Spain

Therefore, any photos of Seddon Atkinson Strato’s would be great

Also, anyone who has tales of driving/running the Strato, it would be great to hear from you

So, come on Trucknet, let’s see these Strato’s!

Kindest regards

Isn’t the bin wagon a Pacer ?

MXO did belong to us before we sold it a few yrs ago. Just to add to this, there is not much Seddon in them. Just about the only thing is the chassis rails and cross members. The rest of them are made out od Iveco parts.

Isn’t that a Seddon Atkinson 400 series rather than a Strato?

That could be a 401 or even a early 411, I know people put 401 grills on 400, but I would say it is a 401.

Thanks Welly

Ill have a word with the team when I get to Snett at the weekend. It was with the Renault Premium race truck.
