Section 88 ,traffic act

told i can carry on driving under this section of the road traffic act as there still looking at my license , runs out on 7 th october, also said theyd post me a letter stating this .
whats section 88 of the road traffic act, how long can you carry on driving under this, d.v.l.a got my form on the 15th of this month, how long does it take to issue a new one, why when youve had a blood test which comes back o.k does there need to be further investigation into your medical form. ta

I think the licence has to be ‘revoked’ for it not to be valid - but I stand to be corrected.

Mine ‘ran out’ over a month ago but I can still drive legally - silly GP decided he knew better than my eye specialist so DVLA had to ‘investigate’ - maybe it will come back next month :exclamation:

Section 88 is the road traffic act that allows you to continue without a licence to drive, providing you have not been disqualified by a court. and that you did in fact hold a licence to drive that class of vehicle.
Section 88 covers the case of a lost licence, or renewal of a licence.
