I have seen a few posts regarding GPS for trucks so my apologies for adding my own.
I hear there are a couple of fleet companies who have gone bust and want to sell their truck gps systems.
Can anybody guide me to them?
Better yet,
I have a TomTom GoLive 750 recently bought for £229.00 on from sale.
It has a card slot. TomTom say they do not have a card with GPS software on it that can work with mine and nore does my system support any kind of lorry software I may want to download onto it.
Can anybody prove differently?
I am in no hurry to spend £450 on a brand new lorry satnav. I little common sense reading road signs should be sufficient most times. Besides this is my third satnav in under a year all brand new. No wonder I am eyeing up second hand . £100 is what I am prepared to pay. One day’s work to me.
Agency staff.
I go everywhere and anywhere. Class 2.
I have a tomtom g50 i bought on ebay for £23, i also use a truckers road atlas to check for bridges, total cost £35.
What the point on spending £250 on a satnav, when a £23 one tells you exactly the same

Convenience.
When time is money, you are not given overnight destination plans and you are working with different clients all the time some of whom will expect you to go then and there cos other clients have demands you will be expected to know the roads. Cue - navigation systems that do it all for you.
On this occasion I am not prepared to fork out £400 for a Truck 7000.
There are a few techies out here who must know how to get round these things and I am prepared to wait. I don’t do ebay. Amazon is better. I only buy new from websites. Point a warehouse or shop and I go there if second hand.
get a tomtom go 520 or similar with a card slot. get the maps navcore etc from the net along with easyusetools or keygen and away you go tomtom truck for the price of a satnav unit.
thats what i did with my tomtom 520 works a treat.
good place to look www.gpsunderground.com
Thanks Gezt.
TT Home do have a few Points of Interest with truck aids which I need to try out.
Your comments have been noted in case I come across other drivers who are not too scared of a bit of programming.
If I had known you did yours with a GO 520, I doubt I would’ve tried my luck with my GoLive 750 on gps underground.

Same here from same site, works best of any ‘truck nav’ I’ve used but still isn’t perfect.
If you’re expecting perfect, get that idea out of your head, they’re still just an aid, but a bloody good one
