Darlington to Northampton tomorrow. Good run out. Tip and straight back.

You enjoying it?

Enjoyed the first one. Ask me tomorrow night and I’ll tell you if it was as straightforward as it sounds.

It’s all experience as they say.

Anyone know what wagons they use at Cepac?

Merc Actros I believe

Really? :open_mouth:

Care to elaborate on that, as it’s like you’re questioning the answer as if a lie?

And any Newbie that get’s through their day without incident detrimental to another shift, should view that as good!
Not limping back into the yard with the bumper in the hold, or the side rail hanging off generally helps…

Always back in one piece is the end to a good day…

I just thought a nooby wouldn’t be given the keys to one of them. I’d get one of the older trucks which I would be just as happy taking and bringing back in one piece.

Might not be the new shape…The model has been out for a few years now…So don’t panic…

A wise move, go for the old dog…
No one will notice a few more scratches or dings!
That first one on an immaculate motor really stands out!

Phew

I was lucky enough to have an assessment the other day in a Volvo F500 truck. The rest of the fleet was Volvo 460s all new as well as they are fazing out old trucks.

Was so comfy to drive.

How did the assessment drive go?

Really well. He was full of praise for my driving after only 6 weeks driving a class 1 lol.
Interview after with someone else I felt went ok. Just a waiting game now to see if I’ll be offered a place there.

Nice one fingers crossed

Thanks.

Just been rehired by the place I left. They asked me to go back but I’ve told them I’ve applied for another job and if I get offered I’ll be taking it.

That’s good I hope it all works out for you. Well I did my second agency job and it went alright. Got a reverse in(fun and games), nice new Mercedes Actros. So comfy and good to drive. I would happily drive them all day everyday. I’ve got to sort this reversing out. It seems the bigger space I’ve got to get it into the more I weave and have to shunt.

I found that too. The tighter the gap the easier it is to slide in smooth. I always arse it up in an RDC where I hit loads of room and usually an audience…lol!

Yeah I’ve not managed any tight reversing spots as of yet. It will come with alot of experience as at the minute I’m only working weekends around my current job. That might change this week all being well.
