I love how the self-righteous brigade always come flooding out of the woodwork whenever a comment is made about running bent. The best bit of it is that the majority of those doing the moaning are the same ones who did it themselves back in the 70s and 80s when it was the “norm”. This site takes hypocrisy to a whole new level.

Rob you say that many of us are self -righteous we were or may have been doing this
early on okay but how long did one stay at a customs yard or a border crossing much
much longer than today, also the punishment given out today for working illegal and
not obeying the laws and rules are such that only a idiot would carry one like a
Ostrich with its head buried in the sand, and the stress and traffic is nothing like
the years before ,The way to survive is to adjust and follow the easy route
and not battle one,s way through a storm of Gale force 10 size, and also
still earn a good wage.or am I wrong,■■? you tell me!!

You are wrong. And I will tell you!! Quite simply, regardless of the circumstances/excuses, if you’ve run bent on any occasion yourself then you have no place/right/whatever to be criticising others as it’s sheer hypocrisy. And no I don’t care for your “how would you feel if a tired trucker flattened your daughter” comments that will follow, so save yourself the bother.

Yeah right but your daughter is more likely,if not certain,to be flattened by an 8 wheeler tipper running at around 45 tonnes gross than by one running a couple of tonnes overweight and by a tired driver who’s been awake for 24 hours and who’s still driving than one who’s just gone half hour over his driving time. :unamused:

And?

Self explanatory I would have thought. But VOSA obviously probably would’nt think so but if they know different and can still apply some common sense let us know.

Er, hello? You’re the one that’s running with this, not me. Please quote where I’ve commented on the rights and wrongs of running bent.

I’ll try to put it in a way that hopefully you’ll understand. You’re the one who commented on drivers who might have breached a few regs in a small way over the years not being in any position to put a negative point across concerning the same issue  .There’s nothing hypocritical about pointing out the relative differences in the levels of danger between large scale infringements in hours or overloading etc when compared to relatively much smaller ones.In that context there’s nothing ‘hypocritical’ about drivers who might have been involved in some relatively small hours or weight infringements over the years pointing out the dangers when those infringements are taken to a much higher and more serious level. What I was saying was that hopefully VOSA can recognise the difference in severity between massive hours or overloading infringements when compared to much smaller ones on the basis of common sense and likewise drivers need to know the difference between when they’re being asked to do a job which is on the edge or borderlines of being legal and when they’re being asked to break the law in a big way.In that context your claims of hypocricy, against drivers pointing out those differences and/or asking vosa to excersise that type of discretion, would be unjustified. .

No they wouldn’t at all (my comments, that is, not VOSA). If you’re running illegal then you’re running illegal - there is no grey area. You can’t seriously be telling me that it’s okay for a driver that runs a bent bit on hours to lambast a driver that sticks 45 tonne in the back of a tipper :unamused: . That is the definition of hypocrisy. Perhaps you should look up the word in the dictionary as you seem to be talking about a word that doesn’t even exist. The severity of the offence is irrelevant.

Perhaps a reminder of the saying about casting stones is needed in this thread as well. :bulb:

ROB K you have heard about BORN again CHRISTIAN,s Well this
happens also with some Drivers and even when you may disgree
these people have a right also to view there thoughts about this
how many people have broken the law in a minor way and yet
these same people ARE not aloud to say Bring back the death
penalty for various crimes because they have broke a minor
law some time in their life, Sorry but you are Wrong
and the same goes about telling the enforcement offices
of a BENT transport operation,
BALL is now in your court,

WTF are you on about. :unamused:

What I say is right. If you don’t agree then you are as much as hypocrite as all the others : “don’t do as I do, do as I say”. :unamused:

Rob k I thought that you were a person of good standing and also
a man of the world, sorry if I have misjudged you, but you are
I believe needing to return to that school of lfe and take a few
lessons in various disciplines that one learns as life passes by,
Have a nice day ,

And you need to take
lessons on how to use
a computer like a
computer instead of
using it like a 1960s
typewriter. Some
lessons on spelling,
grammar, general
punctuation and not
using stupid colours
in most of your posts
wouldn’t go amiss
either. :unamused:

:open_mouth: I thought that an 8 wheeler running at 45 tonnes gross would be enough let alone put 45 tonnes load on it. :unamused:   Anyway if we take your argument to it’s logical conclusion anyone who’s committed so much as a parking offence would’nt be able to complain or stand as a witness against a firm that loaded an 8 wheeler at 45 tonnes (or 56 tonnes :open_mouth:  ) gross driven by a driver who’d also been on duty for a lot more than 15 hours for example. But in your world that parking offence would also carry the same penalty as that tipper driver and his guvnor should get. :unamused: :open_mouth:  The old saying might as well get hung for a sheep as well as a lamb would be relevant in that case.

HI Rob k no one told me that to post on here one had to be 100% perfect
and I like the way I do them, any way my posts cheer up your day , bringing a  to your
face, and I still say drop the boss in it if he is so bad,
