Another Volvo F10 of L V transport from gravesend. It could be the same truck that bubbleman has put on apart from the reg plate everything else is the same (air horns/window flags/knights heads etc)
oh and the F10 badge on the grill has been moved.
its got to have been the same driver.
I don’t know how you do it, Marc, but it is amazing how you resurrect old memories!
I well remember Colliers of Chippenham and their small but tidy fleet. Light green with dark green stripes I think… Pity about the damage to this old girl but with some of the farmyards we had to twist our way around sometimes, it was never too much of a surprise if we took chunks out of something…
I was told ages ago that Mick Collier (the son of F.T.) was something to do with J.J & S Bulk from Calne. Can anyone confirm or deny that, purely out of interest?
Thansk again, Marc. Brilliant!!
Well done LVT, still going.
Page 200 yet ?
hiya,
Well i’m going to have a go at hitting the big 200.

Heres a few more pics then
Cheers Bubbs,
Excellent pic of the Vabis, thanks Marc! Parked in Hollin Bridge Street, Blackburn, with the Hamilton Arms in the background. With an Atki just peeping over the wall of what we used to call “the land”, across the road from the main depot side.
Hi again,Thanks Chris for the info,I had a feeling the Vabis was outside the yard as I also saw the cab cap of the Atki peeping over the wall,ok…heres todays stuff,a couple in here which are up your street Chris,
The first is a classic in my book.
Nearly at page 200…then I can have a rest

hiya,
Used to drink in the Hamilton but was a bit near the office and there was always somebody popping in to “just take us a trailer to so and so or pick us a trailer up for trunk” so moved further along the road to the Havelock for peace and quiet.PS wonder was the bit of Atki poking over the wall my motor it was my era.

Cheers Bubbs,
Lucas used to run a Scammell 8 wheeler, based in Kendal, just like that one.It was driven by a chap called Archie Boardley and I think he ran to Birmingham and back one day then up to Glasgow and back the next.He parked up behind Andrew Brown the local Lucas agent in Kendal! When I were a lad of course oo! ar! Dennis.
Dennis those “Scammells” were not out when you were a lad

Cheers Bubbs,
Quite agree with you Marc, that Leyland does look good.Talking about book’s,that is what you should do is compile a book of your cuttings and pics, there would be plenty willing to buy that.
Cheers Dave.
I hope you don’t stop at page 200 Bubbs, this thread is amazing. It’s understandable you might need a break but please don’t pull the plug.

It is bad enough that Dennis (Bewick) has thrown the towel in. Please Marc, keep this one going until 300 at least, after all you are almost two-thirds (66.6%) there
It is really AWESOME…
