Hi Dave, yes mate I totally agree,it certainly has spoilt all the pics.I cant see me doing much now on here…I’ll look in but its pretty well over as far as I’m concerned
Cheers Bubbs
Same as you Marc.I have about 60 pics to post, don’t think we will be uploading any after those unless the size does get back to what it was, also my eye’s hurt after a while looking at this lot.
Cheers Dave.
Hi again, good comments Wheelnut, the cuttings box has loads in it,however the best of them have been put on this thread and to be very honest somedays I struggle to put interesting pics on.A few good pals (Truckerash and Moomooland to mention a couple) know my intentions were to take the thread to 200 pages and then gently cut down my input .I spend about an hour a day finding, scanning then resizing and finally posting the 10 pics on here, dont get me wrong I enjoy it ,especially if it stirs a memory for someone, but its time that I could use to do other things.
As for the format changes, well its not helped me because the clippings are butchered and I’m not happy seeing them like that,I put some photos on earlier and that was’nt too bad.The thread has some good contributers like Numbum,Ainacs and marcus22 so it will carry on…the clippings box will go into the loft in the morning
Cheers Marcus,

Bubbs,
hiya,
Well Bubbs and Dave you had me reaching for the extra tablets and putting a bigger shot in the glass thought for a short time i was’nt going to get my daily fix anymore, myself being a duck egg as far as the technology of posting pics and being able to take them even, this is a super medium for seeing stuff from the past and present even pics of stuff i’ve actually driven and no they was’nt steamers, so keep at least one old codger happy and keep going and a big thank you for everything lads.
thanks harry lon retired.
Once again great photos Bubbs, all back in order thank goodness.
The Marshalls of Evesham pic brought back memories, they were always dashing about on market work along with R.Sinclair and Spiers and Hartwell from the same town.

Hello again,I havent been posting stuff for a few days, the new format has been a bit disapointing when I see some pics getting chopped off so I suppose theres no point carrying on with the clippings, however seeing Phil put some old black and white shots I’m going to try as well…
Lets see if this is any good.
Cheers Bubbs.
The very first artic I ever drove was a Mandator like this.(Not with the 4 in line trailer though).

Thanks Tom, we just made some changes to the database to try to speed things up a touch…
Well Rikki your changes to the database have worked for me - dramatic improvement in speed, however I’m a bit upset that the new format has chopped half my Crusader cab off, see: viewtopic.php?f=35&t=61389
Someone is working hard - my Crusader has got all it’s cab back now - thanks fellas.
That was me! You’re welcome - glad your Crusader is showing properly now

Bubbs,
This thread is like medication for me & I can’t be the only one who will be gutted if the photos stop. Thanks to everyone who contributes to it. Please try & keep it going.
I have borrowed a few of Bubb’s pics from this thread, so thought I would put some on in exchange, if that is ok Marc. These are from my personal collection, ( which would not make a pimple on yours!)
How to deliver a scrap concrete pipe, to build into a kid’s play area in the pub garden.
Step 1. Fix a tried & tested (used 1000’s of times) block & tackle to the headboard and through the pipe. Arrange pile of old (very) pallets & stout plank at the rear.
Step 2. Reconsider and replace plank with old (very) garage door, for more width + more pallets to lessen angle of ramp. Get a volunteer to push pipe off rear of lorry.

Great pics Pat,
GHU298K rang a bell in my mind, here she is with Heanor Haulage…the one next to it GHU334K a 6x4 model I think was ex John Golding…I used to work with a chap on Western Transport in Avonmouth called John Rice,he did a lot of work on the continent,I wonder if he had anything to do with Rice Brothers.
Thanks for all the postings over the last week ,its been a bit of a bad week on here hasn’t it

Great to hear everything is back on track. The other contributions, pics and stories, will keep going a while yet then
These pages move faster than a bad pint of Guinness so I meant to mention earlier to Numbum that those latest pics were terrific, especially the flat trailers …still coming to terms with placing multi shots on here …jim

hiya,
Jim clearly remember the Seddon when it was on the road, and from experience remember it being quite nippy having been “blown off” by it on numerous occasions what was it powered byi never came across it when parked up…

Going through old pages…What was the difference between a Reiver and a Super Mastiff? I remember seeing both as a kid (ARCs had several Reivers and LA Lockhart ran at least 2 Mastiffs) A work colleague drove one of these Bathgate cabbed wagons and absolutely hated them…

The Reiver had a Leyland engine and the Super Mastiff had a Perkins V8
