Hello again, nice pic Nathan…proper drivers, flat caps and bibs 'n braces, magic…any more, heres some more cuttings…I may have put this F86 before…oh well its a good shot.

Cheers Bubbs,
Hi,just seen my latest post on the new format, cant say I like it much but I was the same a couple of years ago when the site was updated…Can the moderators move the boundry a bit to the right as the pics are chopped off.If this cant be done then whats the point of putting stuff on and that goes for anyone posting pictures.

As I have pinned my colours to the mast and said I like it on the mega thread discussion I am not going back on my words, but a suggestion maybe to move the content, images to the left and have the Avatar and user name column to the right, then if we are losing land, we only lose the posters information which regular users know off by heart anyway.
Dont give up now bubbs, you have worked too hard

Cheers Bubbs,
I could bet the Atki Sales&Marketing dept. was all trained in Soviet Union
Ha Bubbs…that long 8 legger ford you posted on the 12of feb they,ve cut the cab in half, thats typical

John
Pipped at the post while typing, (one finger style) but will post anyway.
Yeah, come on now Mods, I’m sure you can sort it! See what you have to remember, us chaps have spent most of our lives charting our own destiny, or so we thought. Now we are hanging on trying to cope with this world of new technology, as well as young whippersnappers keep telling us to shut up we don’t know what we’re talking about!
Most of us are at the age where we don’t like change, for what we see as changes sake,
So if only on this part of the forum, please get us as near to what we are used to as you can, as we don’t want to lose any of our posters like we did the last time.
I’m sure it is not your intention to upset us and will fix it in time, so thanks in anticipation.
Hang on in there marc and don’t lose the faith, we have a great forum here which has become one of the nicer corners of life.
hi bubbs, used to park over night in S-E-Davis yard at astwood bank his yard was like a museum, old steam tractors, foden timber haulers, d2 cat plant plus many other’s, the grave yard was next door and old Mr Davis told us if you see an old lady walking about don’t worry as its a ghost, you would be surprised how many of the lads never stayed they again, always had a good nights sleep there as it was dead quite
thanks for the memories bubbs,

I was wondering if you could remember the Davis Transcon Jim, I couldn’t but as you say the yard was full of something different so a motor the same as we were driving wouldn’t be noticed so much, they had a better livery than us though typical colours for a Plant operator. For other readers Van Hee had a small office in Davis yard where we would sometimes tranship or stay the night. I never had a problem sleeping there either but some lads swear they were disturbed during the night by ghostly goings on, maybe this could be a new thread Ghostly Roadside Encounters! Cheers Franky.

Was that cab built by MFI?

They’ve rejigged the website so that the right hand side isn’t cut off any more - so we can carry on as before.
Keep them pics coming,
Steve

sifting through some old commercial motors to ebay and came across this, looks nasty, container v ergo aec, poor chap.
I remember this incident, I was only a lad at the time, but remember my dad coming home quite upset as he had seen this accident.
He was working at the Croydon depot of London Carriers at the time, situated ay the Philips TV factory just off the Purley Way

Just found this picture of 2 Commer TS3’s
these were the first brand new lorries on the fleet of Bernard Saunders of Walton on Thames
My Uncle Joe drove 51 VPD (replaced his Thames Trader)
and my late father - Chris Todd, drove 52 VPD - replaced his Dennis
They were painted in a distinctive Red & Sand Colour, still used today on their fleet of mainly Hiab Lorries

Toddy2,
Have you noticed the Commers have different exhaust systems, perhaps different engines?
Take it easy,
Rgds,
David
