Hello, nice old pics Tankerian…Sorry I cant help you find more shots. :frowning: Heres some more from the bubblevaults

any more of this about bubbleman ? its a bit of a beast isnt it .

Here’s KED 505P when I had it at NorthWest Freighters 1982…It was a bit of a beast then!

sorry to offend anyone but thats gone poofy looking compared to the brown version.

KED went from NW Freighters on to Dens, then it went on to the firm who had it in that 'orrible brown colour.

After that, John Huddlestone had it, then Hedgers got it (this was when KED505P was taken off and a naff private plate got pinned on)

did the brown version travel far from the uk ? it looks like a comic/cartoon truck mind you.

Love that old school Christian Salvesen colour scheme. nice, plain and simple.

Those old salt wagons (normally 8whl rigids) were always a fine sight.

Hi Marc sorry can’t help you with any info on the Scania with the loft conversion it was just one I had bought to break can’t even remember where it came from!

I see it has a 2 series sun visor though and Macarthy Stone were in the next yard you can see their tower crane.

Regards Pat

The 141 With loft coversion was R/H/D but 410 bhp dutch spec not the fastes of Scanias put pulled well . The roof conversion was done by Billy Sadler when he was involved with Select trucking .His partner at the time was a proper wide boy ( con man ) who had a couple of alias names Willam Thatchem & Dave Steptoe just being 2 of them ,He did a runner with the firms money . The truck was bought from Stuart Myhill and run on M/East work for R&J International ( Dow Freight). When Select bought new Iveco 220/38s the 141 was given a face lift & i sprayed it 2 tone blue then put on Swiss work . I drove the old girl for a few of months doing swiss and Italy untill Mr Steptoes disapearance . at this piont Stu came and collected the truck due to none payment and i returned to my faithfull F88 . incidentally One of the ivecos was smashed up in Turkey on its 1st Trip and was never recovered .
