Hi Bowser, the pic was taken at my vantage point over the M4 ,the last over bridge before the M32 heading west,I’m sure I was at a drop somewhere and the Transcon was tipping in front of me…I seem to think it had a plain sheet of steel at the rear of the cab as if the lorry had something wallop the back of the cab…I’m sure it was this one
Bubbs,

Bubbs,
the back of the cab had an upright header tank , a great big one as i remember … you have a good memory bubbs i’d forgot about that …
just so you know that transcon was turned on its side in paris by the owner and was badly damaged , believe it or not it was then driven all the way back crabbing quite badly due to the twist in the trailer , all that way and they got pulled going along st peters way in bolton about 3 miles from the garage , i have no idea how they got away with that but they did. it was then repaired and put back to work but it was never the same.

Some great pics on this thread Bubbleman especially this Paulton Foden -have you any pics of the Paulton Transport 8 wheel tippers please,I used to see them regularly around the Guildford area in the 80’s. Regards Tim)
When I was a youngster you used to see Cornish cabbage and cauliflower lorries turned over or in the ditch all over the place up the A303 when they used to go hell for leather overnight to Covent Garden market. My father reckoned some of them only got used a couple of times a year and that was the result.
Hi again,Tim C wanted some tippers from Paulton tpt, heres a couple then the rest of todays pics are tippers from my pal Ade Cypher…these are great pics
Hope these are ok.
Cheers Bubbs,

Bubbs,
hiya,
Can’t remember the prog Marc but i can visualise a pretty young Brummie girl saying it on what i thought was “top of the pops” but it’s very rare i get anything right, you’ve only got to ask my old lady she’ll verify that, still enjoying you’re imput Marc just as much now as on day one can’t get enough, you make my day, just an armchair “lorry driver” nowadays, notice did’nt use the term “trucker”.
thanks harry long retired.

Hello,heres a few from Cornwall,![]()
The first is a pic by my great pal Adrian Cypher
Hope these are of interest.
Cheers Bubbs,
Sad to think that only two of these firms are still trading and only one of them in the hands of the original owners.
Bubbs,
thanks for the southern pics put on lately, brings back alot of memories of firms from times past.
Great pics again Bubbs mate as per usual, thanks for the Evans’ Volvos I remember sitting in class at school and watching them head up the North Devon link road. I was far more interested in watching trucks go by than learning biology.
Hi Bubbs
Havent posted for a while, great photos as always, must be a labour of love now, keep up the great work
LOVE the photo of the Peagaso Troner, looked at buying one of these when I was going to set up on my own.
Regards
Ant
Hi again, hello Ant,long time no hear…labour of love,I suppose it is…I know a lot of lads look in and although the clippings ran their day I still think its too good a thread to let slip away, theres loads of input from other people too,it does’nt take much to spark a memory e.g Harry remembering “I’ll give it foive” that got several remarks.I know my old pics havent got the same interest as the cuttings but its all I can offer for the minute.
Hope these are ok.
Cheers Bubbs,
