Hello, good input from Numbum and stanfield…makes a break from my pics which may not appeal to everyone.Chris (trunkera1) I remember the Pyetrans Seddon in Westinghouse livery too,it was originally owned by ■■■■ Jones in Forest road Kingswood,he delivered all the Vespa scooters from Douglas’s a few hundred yards from his yard…a bit of useless info to most on here
Ok lets go then.

Like that photo of Rosser’s yard Bubbs - with the caravan in the background.
There was a time when any self-respecting yard had one of those for a quick kip or a game of cards. Or just somewhere to keep out of the rain while mix-ups were sorted out…
Another Great selection Bubbs That Guy of Longton’s with the curtainsider must have been a rare shot, could’nt have been that many curtains about back then

Malc,I can’t remember seeing that weighbridge, whereabouts was it? I was running out of Easington North Sea Gas plant for A.E.Evans up until April 1979 and the Tozer’s Volvo is an “S” 1977 reg.Was it installed after 1979?
Looks like one of H.Campey’s at the back maybe.Hello Chris. The weighgridge
is on the A63 about 6 miles from Melton crossroads where the Capper Pass works was situated. It is just after the A1034 to South Cave heading West. I think it was about 76/77 when it opened and the Morris Marina in the car park would be around at that time. Tozers are probably still running that Volvo
You may be right about the Campey S80 and my research leads me to believe that they were built between 1972 and 1978.
Sorry for derail to a brilliant thread.
Thanks for that Malc.I know where you mean now.I must have been lucky not to have been pulled.
Tozer hangs on to his motors then does he,just like A.E.Evans.
Back to Bubbleman’s great thread.
Hi, i havent seen that photo for years. If i remember right it was in motor transport paper, the last time it was in a school maths book about weights and measures. It was my dad how was driving the Volvo for Sam Tozer…

I always liked the F.B.Atkins livery, smart, well turned out and traditional, they certainly looked the part especially the Merc’s and Fiat’s they ran on continental work.
I remember the left-■■■■■■ Iveco 220-38’s they had in Felixstowe on container work, but I think they had gone over to the plain yellow livery by then.
Any more Atkins pics?
And does anybody remember a guy called Don Priest? I think he came from the Derby/Nottingham area (possibly Long Eaton) and drove for Atkins and then went to Taylor Barnard.
Continuing Flatmans exellent oldies theme & Bubbs scrapbook memories here are some more.
Hope these are OK.Original photos by P.Davies & S W Stevens-Stratten
