I have never seen one except in a book, but the predecessor to the F86 was a fire engine chassis called F84 and a google search does reveal an F85 in 1972.

sorry for dragging this up from a few posts ago,but in the intrests of history,i am reliably informed that the fvs erf(uhn 914x) was subsequently written off in an accident on the a66 near warcop.driver andrew savage(my best mates brother) escaped unhurt.

Hiya …this Foden is all over the place he must be running bent…there are pikkys on the peak district site when it belonged to Gordon Stead.
its also on the south wales site at a show. and i think I posted it on this site 10 pages ago… The Foden is in presavation now painted Red and Blue.

Hiya .a pal of mine asked me to look on Scrapbook to look for any of his trucks and this come up. I don’t know what year this was
taken but the Bond mini car (175cc) in the picture must say it was a few years ago
this is the same truck taken in 2004 but is still in imaculate condition today.
IICR The unit was new to Welches transport cambridge.The colour photo is one the Bill Clewes collection.

hi bubbs, seeing the d series photos ,reminded me of the d series i drove for a firm in bristol that did all the work out of westinghouse in kingswood,a regular run with brake chambers to immingham for shippment to volvos in sweden,a lovely little artic to drive,and turn the gear knob,a good kip as well! cant remember the name of the firm,but i think it was williams??,anyhow ,the only job i ever got on the phone!!,no interview or anything,i was there about 6 months and i dont think i met the guvnor once!!

my dad drove a d series for a firm in wolves and he used to deliver the aluminium chambers to bendix in the late 70’s they were made by a firm in middlemore road smethwick.he also used to take them to a little place in wareham next to the station, it was a good old motor.got a photo here on the way back from wareham on the a350 just outside westbury about 1979
