Scrapbook Memories (Part 1)

hi bubbles, that photo of freeways scania 111 with the bonus axle it was the first second hand vehicle they ever bought, they bought it off a company from lancashire then had the bonus axle fitted, it was used for the heavy loads out of Davey roll gateshead, i thought that johnny roham was the driver, but it was Eric minto who drove it first, was a bit of a beast when turning on uneven ground the skids would lock up under the trailer, this site is well named, thanks for the memories bubbles.  cheers bumper

Well done Marc, keep up the good work.
I never realised that Jempsons did European work, but then being a Soton lad and shipping out mainly from
Poole,Southampton and Portsmouth in the 70,s and 80,s, would,nt have seen them assuming they shipped Dover or Folkestone.
Anybody know did they do it for long ■■?

Jempsons did do Euro work up to the 90’s and probably beyond. They ran trucks on a silo contract with Schmitt of Heilbronn / EBT Dover.

They tended to run a bit heavy sometimes in the early days.

A few from me after cleaning out the loft earlier on. The first one needs no explanation.

How scary is that?

Hi again,A big welcome to Gerard from Holland,I hope you go through all the pages  …Mappo, thanks for the info on the Jempsons M.A.N…all I knew was for its first year in service it worked for Mansel Davies, hence the Pembrokeshire reg…the local dealer trying to get a foot hold,to my knowledge it was the only one of this make to join the fleet…Good stuff from Bonkey too

Ok…lets have some E.R.Fs

Hope these are ok.

Cheers Bubbs.
