I don’t know what Bob thinks but I reckon it’s a sure bet that it’s a Connell and Finnegan motor.I remember them well running scrap over Woodhead to BSC Fox’s at Stocksbridge.
Well done Bubbs, great site with many fans. Please keep up the good work.
Cheers Paul
Just imagine the entertainment you would have given us if it WAS “Spank Monthly”,you had purchased all those years ago.Well done Marcus.Keep it up.

Well hello lads…Totally blown away, just looked at whats been put on since yesterday…everyones dug deep to find something to bump the thread to 100 pages…well done. When I posted the first pic yonks ago I never thought for a minute that a,I’d still be sticking stuff on everyday and b,the enjoyment and pleasure these silly bits of paper has given to so many…and oh yeah introducing me to a whole load of new mates…thanks to everyone.
Hiya …that ford of Mellors was on a Tea contract for the Co-op in Crewe.Mr Mellor looked after that lorry like a baby it was washed and cleaned
3 maybe 4 times a week. it was his pride and joy…Don’t know what happened to it when it was sold.
John.

You couldn’t say the same about any of these. Untill looking inside the cabs of 4 of them parked up for sale at Belle Vue Auctions one time, I always fancied a drive of one. But all of the cabs looked like they had never been cleaned out in the 5 years they had them, and interiors were tore to bits !
<–Thanks for finding this photo though Bubbs, another reminder of the Buxton tippers that have gone.–>
Superb job. I look at this thread every couple of days to catch up and have seen many memories like the title says. Like a lot of others I WISH I’d taken many more photos, but here are the photos I might have taken. Thanks
Hello lads, heres a few more cuttings.

hi bubbs, that pikky of the KM and york trailer brings back memories of my time with Smiths of hanham, not far from you ,i suspect,.when i was given the KM after a couple of weeks i asked for my old TK with leyland 400 and 2speed axle back,
that KM was useless, and shook my bleedin teeth out!!
…chris
Is there a reason why that ERF European looks like a Scania 141 with a few changes??
Hi again,I remember Smiths of Hanham Trunkera1,the TKs,KMs and the mastiffs…and Jeremy Smith .OK Scanias today with a couple ofs 80s and 81s for Harry cos they’re his favorites
Hope these are of interest.
Cheers Bubbs.
hiya,
When i drove an 80 Marc, i was never short of matches to light the Woodbines, other drivers used to toss boxes of the things at me when being overtaken and that was everybody, what a pill that was enough to put you off haulage forever, although it would have made a tidy 4 or 6 wheeled rigid, but they was never a 32 tonner.
thanks harry long retired.
