The reg on this one looks very familiar - I’m sure it ended up with Charles Mayor of Preston.

Hello again,yet another mixture.
In the “olden days”
- when loading/unloading the ro/ro ferries, could only one deck be loaded/unloaded at a time?
Reason i ask is because the lorries on the top deck look like there waiting for the linkspan to be raised ?
I think i know what i mean![]()
Brilliant pics as ever Bubbs

Yes the older ferries used to unload like this, but it was to do with the loading docs and not the ferry, the ramps used to be raised up on cables to the top deck and lowered for the bottom, at certain tides you used to get grounding on the the trailer legs and diesel tanks due to the angle of the ramp - good old days !!!
Notice the Beresfords Scania behind the front Scania - great pics as alsways Marc - Love the shoe !!

Ant
Hello lads, hows about a few ERFs then.
Hope these are ok.
Cheers Bubbs.
CCK that Leyland Super Hippo you posted could have been one of Siddle C. Cook’s as they ran several in the 60s and used to run into Sheffield fairly often with them and when Pickfords took them over they seemed to disappear as I cannot recall them being painted in Pickfords colours where as their Volvo FB88 was and based at Birtley depot.
Thanks to Bubbs for the pictures of the ones we used to drive, here are some we remember seeing on the road as kids

Hiya Bubbs cracking photos mate!! My interest is in the M. Woodhouse shots which I would think were taken at about the time the B series was launched in 1975 .The trailers will have been Crane Fruehauf chassis with a Tasker Garstang tipping body c/w either Edbro or Harsh gear. Also visable is the fact that 2 of the 3 tractors are lettered Lancaster Transport the Woodhouse sister company . Cheers Bewick.
