i remember cardiff transport
am i right in saying wales to scotland tip reload at back all inside 24hrs
flat out 70 to 80 mph nothing could touch um
I remember being in Glasgow in the early '70’s waiting for a backload, and there was a guy from Cardiff Transport with me.
He had a V8 Mandator which he told me went like ■■■■ off a shovel!
I’m not sure they did it one hit though, they had a depot near Newarthill, didn’t they do changeovers? I think the shunters worked in Ravenscraig loading trailers

Could be either of those or even Miss Marple.
Didn’t W.J.Sims work for Sainsburys at one time? And Baughans Frozen Foods are a blast from the past.
Hello again,Well done to Trevor (lemonmouth) for spotting yesterdays deliberate mistake with the spelling of Maudslay

Hope these are ok.

Hi All, Not trying to our doo anyone, but bumped into this is Canada on my travel’s a couple of years ago, not an anorak, but this was at the side of the road and you could not miss it !!! Its a Terex largest one ever built, with a diesel engine running electric motor’s, it carried 300 tonnes of coal ( I think) and used 4000 litres of fuel every 24 hours. It broke and no one could afford to repair it so they built a museum around it (thats what I was told anyway)
sparwood British columbia Canada
I wouldn’t fancy loading that thing with a shovel.I think it would take a good swing to throw a shovel full of stone up onto the body of that one.
Cheers Dave.
Your not far wrong there mate,

If its Princess Anne, she was taught to drive hgvs by the late Dave Tarbuck of Walsall who restored a couple of BRS Bristols.

I wonder if this pre-dates their 38 ton Atki that you featured a few weeks ago? Don’t s’pose there’s a date on the cutting, is there??
bubbleman:
And one of its predecessors…
I can see that a RHD, UK-registered Atki is just the motor to base in Portugal!!
Hello once again.240,as usual stupid me didnt mark the date on the back of the Guy picture but it was from a Roadway mag and probably 1966…ok
Todays stuff.
Hope these are ok.
Cheers Bubbs.
Hi
This is where a staggering amount of 40s 50s 60s and some 70 trucks ended up nr Stevenage, Trucks we’ve enjoyed looking at on this site will be
in this photo rotting away, You’ll only find one f88 thats rotten, If your desperate for parts you’ll find them here but its a buisness so you’ll not get
them for nothing. Good Luck Part’s Hunting !!!
