hiya,
Dave not trying to teach you the geography of your homeland but is’nt the place near Rhyl called Towyn i did a few weeks of my national service there in the 50s before being shipped out to Korea, bet i’m wrong, never been correct in my life.
thanks harry long retired.
You are correct harry, had a holiday there yrs ago at browns caravan site.
regards dave.
Hi Harry and Dave,
Confusion over it is the Tywyn near Tonfanau,my confusion arose due to the fact that the two places are refered to as Towyn in some spellings. But just googled and the one is Towyn Gwynedd and the North Wales coast Towyn Conwy.
Cheers Dave
Yep! That’s definitley NUT Bubbleman, must of been used for internal/dock moves when it came off the road. Would make a nice restoration project, and being the biggest B series, would be nice if it was saved. Nice one VW.
G’day,
Funny I was looking at that blue ERF in the magazine the other day thinking that it was a coincedence that Bubb’s had posted what looked like the same waggon last week. While we’re on Leicester’s ERF’s I thought I’d dig this one out. I took it back in '86 in Tiverton Devon, sadly it was the last shot on the roll of film so this is the only picture of it that I have. Straight eight mate,do you have any info on this motor?
Hope it’s of interest.
Cheers Jamie

Hello N.Z, sorry mate. i dont have any info on this particular unit, and it’s one i have never seen before! Because it has a Jennings type sleeper conversion, i’d say that it was bought 2cnd-hand.

Nice rope and sheet job on the robsons pic, pity they spoiled it by roping over the fly sheet.
regards dave.
i think if you look at it again they were using a bottle fly sheet ,
Correct!Robsons were doing bottles out of St.Helens at the same time as I was on Carmans,(Brit European), in the mid '70’s.
Now those sheets kept you fit, weighed a ton!
hiya,
How come when i did bottles via Suttons i was always two high for most of the load, thankfully only had normal sheets but sometimes had to use four of the things to cover the load.
